yee, 25 May 2017Linux power the internet almost 100%. Linux power handheld ... moreI agree Linux is a great OS... In fact it may be the best among the three ( Windows and Apple) But the reason why it will never be number one is becuase you have to be a Geek just like me to operate the OS. Windows and Apple make the OS easy to operate . You see even my 4 year old daughter can operate a Windows machine.. but an average Mac and Windows user is having a hard time to operate Linux.. Also Linux has very weak Tech support.. If you run into problems (which is normal for all OS) you have no one to run to. You are on your own!!! Unlike Apple and Windows system they have a very strong tech and customer service support. In fact the only reason why Apple is great is becuase of great customer service. That is why Computer Dummmies use a Mac. When you have a Falcon Pc and call there customer service , you will have the great experience that you want to buy more systems from them. Does Linux offer these? No hell That is why even Linux is the best OS around it will never be in the hearts of the world.. Playstation can never compete with PC gaming.. In hardware alone for example the GTX 1080 TI it will eat the speed and power of any console machine...so please do not ever mention gaming. The only reason why console gaming out ranks pc gaming in sales because it is cheaper. The GTX 1080Ti price for example is enough to buy a PS system (and that is just the GPU) But ask any pure gamer who owns a console if they have the means they prefer pc gaming due to quality of graphics and game play.

One thing I like about Microsoft as a company is that they do not force you into getting their own hardware, because Windows is sold as a separate software. Windows can be installed in a lot of hardware even on a Mac computer. If you do not like what Microssoft is offering as far as thier hardware is concern, you do not have to buy it. You can install windows or buy from other hardware vendors it will still have the same Windows in it. That brings me to the MAC system the reason I hate Apple is not becuase of thier OS (as a matter of fact I love it) but Apple forces you to buy thier hardware which is for me expensive and obsolete since Mac computers cannot be upgraded or customized.

More clueless fanboys. There's no way any ARM chip comes even close to an i7/i5. Synthetic benchmarks may show an impressive score, but real life use will bring them to a standstill.

Considering that the pen is pretty much the product defining feature of the Surface Pro, not including it in the box seems like a pretty sketchy move.

AnonD-632062, 23 May 2017Microsoft makes nice ads. But seriously, do companies lack ... moreThat's where Microsoft stands.
Panos Panay says Microsoft will launch the Surface Pro 5 when it has achieved enough "meaningful change" to make it a new product. "Meaningful change isn't necessarily a hardware change, which is what a lot of people look for,” explains Panay. “They're like, 'Where's the latest processor?' That's not what I mean. I'm looking for an experiential change that makes a huge difference in product line.”

So there won't be a surface pro 5 unless Microsoft has some big innovations like surface pro 3 to surface pro 4.

Multiple incremental upgrades can make a difference and this device only needed polishing to be perfect. Dusting off the cobwebs is important, unfortunately it took them almost 20 months to address those 'issues' in previous gen and it still doesn't feel like it's finished. I was beginning to think they were waiting to finish their unified Windows visions with non Intel chips to repackage/redefine their product.

                                        1) When you spend this amount of cash you expect premium and want it to be future-proof i.e. replacing minidisplay port with usb-c would be easy and cheap at this point, making the user relaxed that two years from the moment of his purchase he is prepared for potential accessories.
                                        2) After releasing both Book and Laptop (which doesn't make much sense at all) the Pro should be a tablet first device to differentiate it from the family pack and this means less weight (that 60-90g less would feel really great), which is also surprising since its fanless now.
                                        3) Price is still wrong - it's 2017 which means i5 core model should be the basic minimum and if Microsoft still refuses to bundle this 'laptop' with their keyboard the price of that essential accessory should be 99$ max (this is the only thing they can quickly fix without doing any work at this point). Even if you need to wait until September for a discount it'll be worth your attention to get i5 with keyboard for less than 900$, otherwise it's not a good value.
