This Omnivision image sensor is going to be great and the 1/2.5" size is definately an improvement. Most of todays mobilephones image sensor is a TINY 1/6" size. More pixels doesn't mean more quality. Larger image sensor and less pixels means more quality(of course there are many other factors playing in also). Most regular compact digicams have a sensor size of 1/2.33" or 1/2.5", so this OV12825 image sensor is hopefully going to give better images.
Many here says the Nokia N8 is takes better images than Omnivision's image sensor, iFone and Android smartphones. Well compared to the OV12825 still remains to be seen but beats the iFone and Android Smartphone's image quality hands down. There are several reasons for this but main thing is it's incredible large image sensor of 1/1.83", which is larger than what most compact digicams contains. The sensor size is "almost" double the size of a regular compact digital camera. There are of course other parameters such as lens quality, image firmware factory settings etc.

I dnt know why they dont understand tht android is just a OS which is faster 2 run & N8 is a specific phone model which has unbeatable specifications lyk its 12 Mp camera n its sensor, FM Transmitter, USB on d go support,DAB Radio, v3.0 Bluetooth with A2DP n so on.. & even Symbian is quite smoother to run..
Ive seen so many illitrates pplz sply in India,even my frndz r few of them. They talk abt Android, its owesam man u shud buy 1, & wht they do with it is Calling,msnging,themes,music,face book youtube thts it.. For this micromax is much better for them. Loolzz...
Some ppl say touch is vry mch smoother android, Some r lyk Android's camera is much better than ny other model of nokia xcept N8. Android is in these days. Even if we dont know much abt it, We shud change according to d time, Evryone is buying Android n blah blah..

How come nokia is comming in b/w comparison of oprating systems ? The other features r firms own hardware specifications. Its nt Android who do evrything its just an OS..
Nokia is much smarter than ny other brand availlable..
Thr's no point in buying n android phone, When it dos'nt have gud camera lense n camera sensor even no hardware specification which i've listed above..

Schneider-Kreuznach lenses is good for apple iphone because this lenses
much better than Carl-Zeiss or sony lens i using iphone 4 and lg viewty ku990 and win was LG VIEWTY because result was Marvelous

So this is reason why i prefer Nokia, over with many restrictions iPhone.
Yes, Android phones good and i love them, but no one doesn't have same quality camera lens.
So, in Nokia N8 i got all and plus i got fun to take good quality pics.
EVERYBODY LOVE TO TAKE A PHOTOS. SO IT'S IMPORTANT THAT YOU GOT BEST CAMERA PHONE.

Don't advice me again to buy Canon or Nikon camera.

It is new camera sensor, not the same which was installed on iPhone 4. And in case that it is only camera sensor (not full device), it can't be compared with fully compleate device like a NOKIA N8 or any other model. So stop talking about how great is NOKIA N8 photo quality. The only things which can be compared is thise technical specifications.

Camera sensor is only part of full device, then why are you comparing it with complete device (NOKIA N8) ? And that's mean, the only one thing which at the moment can be compared is specifications of OmniVision camera sensor and sensor which is inside a NOKIA N8!
So please stop talking about a photos quality, because in this case you can't compare them.

OmniVision has made the camera sensor of the iPhone 4 but now there are some rumors suggesting that Apple might be switching to Sony's 8 megapixel back-lit sensor for the iPhone 5 (like the one on the XPERIA Arc).
Now just answer me why iPhone 5 wanna to get Sony Ericsson camera lens? Even Sony Ericsson camera lens sensor not better that Nokia N8 camera lens sensor!

COMPARE IF YOU STILL DOUBT! I talking about photos quality! Even for taking video Nokia N8 one of the best and definitely in first TOP 5!

OmniVision camera sensor is 12.6MP while NOKIA N8 camera is 12MP.
So, do you feel any difference between these specifications? Seem that no...
