Tee, 25 May 2017Well as a current owner of the Lenovo P2 with SD625 and 5,1... moreThank you for your advice Tee. But I guess, I would wait for Redmi Note Pro as I am happy to sacrifice some battery and screen estate over performance. Actually I am pretty happy to see SD660 performance charts, it won't be pushing us to buy a new one even after 3 years if supported with enough RAM.

AnonD-671348, 25 May 2017Copy design .from Apple and samsung..lollllIt's 2017 mate, people doesn't care what are the origin of their phone's design. They care more about usability. Battery, RAM, processing power, camera, screen, are far more compromised now. And yet you are still talking about "copying design"?

No big deal for a 6 incher phone. This is not a news.

        Smart move from xiaomi..
I ask myself if MI max use 650, It will be replace my mi5.
Anyone complaint about SoC, don't understand this is budget phone with flagship camera sensor. Insane battery life, and adequate display.

Because you compromise your budget, then compromise with spec. Choose between Camera or SoC, choose between MI max 2 or MI max...
Or you can live with both, but smaller display and no microSD slot.

If you have unlimited budget: go with Apple or Samsung, they serve you better.

Xiaomi is doing many things wrong lately, like
          1) make every phone available for ppl when they want to buy. Sometimes there is not even need for upgrading. Ppl are lining up even for the older models.
          2) make 5.5" version of Mi6. Specially when 5.5" is most popular size in China and India. (but keep the petite 5.1" also)
          3) make a SD 660 version also. Both for redmi note and Mi max series

leledumbo, 25 May 2017That could be a reason, too. They now do marketing (finally... moreYes assuming their costs in advertising have increased, they could simply increase the price of the mi max 2 by 30 dollar. Assuming they sell three million mi max 2, that would INCREASE their profit by 3 million x 30= 90 million dollars. But what xiaomi did was that they increased the price and and the same time, decreased the production costs by using worse
              chipset. This is plain greedy.

down side proccesers from its predesser 650>625 but power efficient processor, atleast battery size would be 6000-6500mah and 128Gb inbuilt storage 6GB DDR3 RAM would be awesome

AnonD-658925, 25 May 2017The reason to go the with sd 625 is plain and simple - incr... moreThat could be a reason, too. They now do marketing (finally!) and it's kind of massive, certainly they need money to do that. Paying ambassador, even if it's just a local artist, is not cheap. Opening production factories is another cost they need to address.

I never expected Xiaomi to disappoint me, but yeah, here we go: SD625. It reminds me of Lenovo, every generation has a worst chipset compared to previous one.

                      mi3-mi6: Way too small

A mi 6 plus/ mi max 2 with good specs would have been perfect

I have nothing against these brands. I mean, they're amazing. It's just that, to be honest, I don't like the name Xiaomi. It makes me steer clear away no matter how amazing they are. It's too oriental and exotic sounding hahaha! I don't want to be known like "what phone do you have?" "oh it's xiaomi" and then for sure they go like -_- LOL

Trust me it's very shallow but it's a very serious and massive impact on some customers. Peer pressure? The struggle is real.

It is too early to be a battery without Qnovo battery tech.

very disappointed. I was expecting a 6Gb RAM variant. Plus, why the SD downgrade???

Yeahhh, but the screen it's Godzilla like and the panel i don't think could be Amoled it will be a IPS and that panel will drain the battery
