15 April, 2011
We had pretty much written off the Walkman brand as far as phones go. However, rumor has it that it might be poised for a comeback in the face of an XPERIA X8 based Android with all the appropriate...

AnonD-6211, 15 Apr 2011WOW! There's a new RAM! I never thought that RAM is measure... moreMhz refers to the processing power of the processor. not memory. it may be translated to a certain amount of cycles per second

The X8 was a failure mainly due to its minuscule camera system and pricing. It should have been prices at under 10k Rupees in India to compete against the likes of Samsung Wave and Monte and Galaxy Pep.

Maybe the walkman rebranding is a gimmic. I wont buy it if its camera system dont improve.

Zylo and Spiro are walkman phones
        even if os is Java.

zangetsu2188 you idiot, even though the RAM spec was a typo, in reality RAM does have a "Hz" rating for measuring it's speed. Many times, when you buy 1GB of RAM, it might for example, be a DDR3 type @ 1600 Mhz...

I think they should make Walkman phone from Xperia Neo or Mini successor. I loved Walkman phones till they decided to drop Autofocus functionality from all Walkman phones and leave it just for Cybershots. I would love to buy Walkman phone with Android but it would have to have at least same specs as mine Xperia Mini Pro.

I love the idea, but those specs are ugly. I'd rather this be a high end phone personally, I loved the walkman series, and the W910i was very high end for its time.

well that spec sheet is fabulous, i know he meant 1Gb ram@ but we need a walkman that will rival the xperia line up. In addition to that spec sheet, a bravia engine, sony lense,a usb port 4 flash drive , 64Gb in ternal memory, 64Gb memory card support, video play time 24hrs

I think SE should be working on a dual core, 1.4Mhz android... HTC has one, Samsung has one, Motorola has one or two... hell, LG were the first to come up with the trend...

The Walkman/Cybershot/Bravia/whatever other brand should only be a boost! In just a few months the ARC will be obsolete!

Maybe you're implying 1 GB RAM? LOL
