15 April, 2011
We had pretty much written off the Walkman brand as far as phones go. However, rumor has it that it might be poised for a comeback in the face of an XPERIA X8 based Android with all the appropriate...

[deleted post]You say that, but it won't sell as much as you think. It will be expensive, and most people won't be able to afford it.

There's a reason why Sony didn't put a dual-core in the Xperia Arc; so it'd be cheaper! And it doesn't lag at all so all is forgiven. That's why I would go for the Arc rather than the Samsung Galaxy II.

In a way, SE are making people come from other manufactuers to SE; the Xperia play is doing that for sure!

It would be great to have an Android based Walkman phone. Since I am music lover and the freedom to download and install apps on android would a killer combo for people like me. Hope this ain't just a rumour.

SE needs to revive the Walkman and Cyber-Shot brand in Android incarnations to get to the top. Those phones will sell like hot cakes!
Moreover if they get into the lower touch phone segment with NOT a phone like Yendo but something much more better, no other company will be able to stop it.

SE! come up with something that will force users from other manufacturers to SE, SONY is the best in OLED technology but you desided to stick with LCD screens, this is the first ANDROID WALKMAN! Phone for GOD sake, We need a killer phone that will srike the whole of GSM world.i'll appreciate Btw 3.5"- 4.2" oled sreen with 16million colours, 1-1.4ghz processor, 1ghz ram, walkman player with support for all divx codec, 5-8mp with auto focus, hd video,SONY's own audio ships and ANDRIOD 2.3. A WALMAN phone with these spec sheet will sell like water!

cameras, gaming, design and now music. Sony has the right idea in terms of giving people options. Samsung only has one major flagship and HTC have a million of the same phone. Sony are really trying and thats a good thing for the consumer. Either going to get a GS2 or xperia arc. Currently have a galaxy s and loving all the new options for my next handset.

An Xperia X10/Xperia Arc-sized device would be far better, but I have to admit, even an Xperia X8-sized "Walkman", Android smartphone would be pretty hard to knock back, particularly if it was available on Telstra...

If the rumors prove true, it may be tough deciding between this and the Xperia Play!

They should have opted for x10i Body... I hate x8, worst Xperia I ever seen.

No SE plz make it little bigger, X8 screen way too small to handle Android UI and your customize UI for Xperia Mid/Low range is awful
