15 April, 2011
It turns out that the new Sense UI 3.0, currently available on dual-core HTC phones such as the HTC Sensation or the CDMA HTC EVO 3D won't be supported by older HTC devices. This would really create a serious...

It's still nonsense. The new phones are more powerfull than my first 3 PC's. It can run those gimmicky little screens. It's a commercial reason, and as a new HTC fan, I find it very disappointing.

actually, the guys at xda already ported the rom with sense 3 to a desire HD (can't remember exactly), it's not 100% functional (camera doesn't work), but it's just an alpha.

sub standard camera???? you have not used the older nokias then.... just from the tests, they are a lot better..
If you want to take 'proper' photos, get a 'proper' camera.....

Eduardo, 16 Apr 2011F... New sense. Its only more fancy than older one. I have ... morewow, an Android fan who actually came out and pointed out that an eyecandy UI can only keep ya entertained for so long. Too bad I've never seen ya comments on the Nokia comments sections(where the Androids attack full force with the fancy UI argument)

so not only do HTC put sub standard cameras in their phones, now they refuse to update some of their recent devices?

That's awful. I was going to get a Desire HD recently, but after hearing about the poor battery life I decided to go for Nokia N8. Now I'm REALLY glad, as we're getting some real cool new innovative software at the moment.

I bought my Incredible S last week but i feel ok about the fact that Htc will not be adding the Sensation touch bits to my phone. i new what i was buying because i researched it.

The early part of the year people were moaning that Htc were over because they didnt have a dual core phone well now they have one and for once someone is actually making use of the dual core part without just using games. As Htc is not Apple or microsoft they dont have to loyal and give everyone sense 3.0 they are just mobile makers. I think Htc do pretty well with updates as an update is in the works for my Incredible how long did Samsung owners have to wait?

F... New sense. Its only more fancy than older one. I have desire hd and i use Zeam Launcher. Simple and useful. Understand one thing guys: every launcher must be clean and useful. I tried all launchers of android market. ALL. If you stop and think, you will see that we get bored of a fancy launcher in one day, or sometimes in one hour. See Shell 3D for example, very fancy, very cool, but not useful on day by day. This new sense is the same. Very fancy, but we will get bored fast. iPhone is a success because ios is simple ans useful, just for example. So, a tip of a guy that tried ALL launchers on Android Market. Zeam Launcher. No fancy, no eye candy. Just simple, clean, fast and useful.

cereal86, 15 Apr 2011poor support is samsung! htc is constantly updating the devices! All Android phones have poor support. My N8 is getting updates while my friend's crappy HTC Desire only got 1 update in 6 months! Pathetic. It's so pathetic just like the mindless Android fans around here. By now the N8 have outsold the Galaxy S and Nokia will be the undisputed number 1 smartphone maker by the end of the year. 2 more years and Android will be nothing. Android is starting to decline here in my country and everyone is buying the N8 like hotcakes! Good job Nokia! Keep up the good work and bury Android ASAP! We believe in you!

Who wants to use sens UI aniways? Seriously! Its slow and drains battery for return you get some nice widgets and not-so-unique services.

I've had few htc phones and i really do like them but sense is first thing to go

Gingerbread doesn't have any special requirements either, yet they are not going to release it for slightly older devices either. Lame. Just when i thought HTC is any different than the others, i see now that they are the same as everyone else. Churning out bunch of devices and forget about older ones in 1,3 microseconds in a hope that we will be changing 280+ EUR phones every 2 months. Maybe when i'll shit brix made of 100 EUR's...
