AnonD-1082, 19 Apr 2011I disagree. Samsung is churning out new tech and makes the ... moreThe only "competition" that Samsung is thereating is the own Android realm, no other plataform cares for super-powerful and useless hardware. Normal people don't buy a phone for the CPU specs, phones are not computers. People buys phones for functionality and user experience. Phones like N8 are special because they have unique functionality, and people who really uses that won't give a shit for dual-core phones. What will really going to do with such a powerful CPU really? Tell your friends that you got a 2Ghz Dual-core phone? If that is what you find usefull, I think you should really regret your 2 years contract.

guys a mobile phone is not a computer. why do u need quad core or 2ghz?
what if u need to make calls but the battery is dead and what if the phone overheat?
playing a ps3 or laptop is way better than this mobiles.
nokia will rise again in 2015
dont u all see? nokia uses low powered cpu is all under their plan
what if in future all phones quad core and cpu 2ghz but all drains fast and overheats?
people will buy nokia again for their long battery life and no overheating
        think again think....

AnonD-3713, 19 Apr 2011The only thing Samsung is doing is making their own phones ... moreI disagree. Samsung is churning out new tech and makes the competition specially Nokia look outdated. This is something to look forward to. These new CPUs are also designed to be more power efficient than their predecessors so battery life should be on par or better than the curent generation of processors. Quads will also be out later this year or early next year. This is good for the consumers but it sucks for fanboys of a certain brand like me. As I said earlier, my N8 now feels outdated and ancient tech in just a year into my 2 year contract.

Anonymous, 18 Apr 2011I don't think so! This is turning into the 'mega-pixal race... moreAs a Nokia fan I am happy that someone else is stepping into place and brings advancements like these. Nokia used to bring new cellphone technologies but they have stagnated and got stucked on a 680 MHz. The N900 which came out in 2009 sports a better processor than my N8 which came out 6 months ago. I really don't know why they refuse to put on more powerful CPU on their devices. Symbian is a lightweight OS and just imagine how fast it will be on a 1 GHz CPU. Nokia fanboys keep saying that 680 is enough and I agree with Laurynas that they were brainwashed to think it is enough.

On most phones, 1 ghz is enough, dual core or even single. Maybe samsung needed something more powerful to work its galaxy or it will turn into a lag monster!? Not trying to flame here, just stating the truth. We don't need it this powerful! It is a machine we use to make calls!

It wasn't long time ago then it seemed pointless to have a 1GHz CPU in a mobile phone, but now it is usual. It will be the same with this 2GHz dual-core CPU.

In my opinion people who can't see any potential of this new CPU in the future, they are just a short-minded people!
