Pray tell what is it in particular that you find quaint being posted here? Because as far as I can tell Samsung perpetuates a fraud (of the kind that companies in the past used to be paying dearly for) yet sells like hotcakes.
The theory is that reality will catch up with the fanbase and sales will be halted. If so faith in humanity= restored. Else expect S9 to be even more aggressively mediocre.

For example mi6 wins in everything apart from screen quality. Why ewould you choose such a bad phone with such an aspect ratio as the basis for pure android?
Netter use the best hardware currently out, no? Samsiung used to be the leader, they have given up since. I mean just look at this phone, it's basically last year's phone with a taller screen.

There are a couple of gimmicks that Note 7 also had but nobody cares about them.
S8 is S7 with an awkwardly long screen, lower autonomy and bad ergonomy (I mean fingertip on the right of the camera? Seriously?)

Performance wise (autonomy, responsiveness, ergonomy, camera) it's nothing spectacular in fact in some things it's worse than s7 (ergonomy and autonomy namely).

That's just sad. All reviews have shown that it is an elongated S7 with poorer battery.
Here's hoping that the crowd would come into its senses (as most of the times) and this phone would sell less than S7 (3rd best S phone after S4 and S2)...

Anonymous, 29 May 2017I visited a shop to check the s8 out. The s7 is not even in... moreIt is not about preference it is about contracts being 2 years do the S6 owner contract ends they upgrade to the S8. The S6 was a better selling phone than the S5
Some people may choose the S7 as it will be off premium but that is to only get a single year upgrade.
Ultimately one model may prove popular, so with what happened to the Note 7 and the imminent launch of tge refurbished it may post hu figures but come 2nd

I think the S7 Edge had more sales than the S7 and now the S8 has more sales than the S8+?
They wanted a bigger S7 with edges and now the S8+ is too big for them ? Hahaha

So much hate here for Samsung. Are we supposed to be inferior because we prefer the looks above speed? Not every person in this world is a tech geek so their sales are very justifiable. To be honest, Samsung makes one of the best screens and cameras out there, and it's not even as slow as much as these people claim it to be. I reallly don't know why people are claiming it's laggy. I have the S6 and it's still snappy as hell. Im so sick of all the hate Apple and Samsung get. Just proves how people always try to bring down those at the top.
