You can't fit the mods if they go for 18:9 displays. Plus the side bezels would become huge to keep the same overall footprint... 3000 mAh would give an endurance rating of about 80+ hours.

Z play alone was a clueless phone. It was cheap and mods were super expensive. What's the Point of a cheap modular phone if modules are so expensive. Last year hardly any moto z play owner would have bought actual mods like camera projector, speakers. Z play 2 itself will never be able to match battery performance of z play. Hence they will be kind of forced to buy some battery mod atleast. Chipping out on battery for slimness can not ever be justified. Dead phone is of no use.

Yeah that chipset is way too weak. The slimness could be a selling point if combined with thin bezels. It's the year the thin bezels start so going thin is nowhere close to enough in comparison. Lenovo failed at foreseeing the future which frankly was quite obvious.
