If you want "innovative" phone just re-launch somethin... moreThat's what I don't understand...Sharp came out with a phone a few years ago in the us with edge to edge screen AND that under the glass ear piece and yet no one has yet to utilize all of that in one phone...Also Japan always has the newest and most interesting technology first lol sharp is definitely underated in terms of what they have done in the phone industry

Let's say welcome to Andy Rubin's new Essential PH-1 phone. Apart for the unfortunately lack of the SD slot, battery could be slightly bigger, etc. But overall it sounds good, at least (as usual, because in real life things can easily change/ be different) as a on paper first impression. Interesting the slight modularity feature and even more, that the front cam now can record 4K, etc. too. Hopefully Samsung will follow/ take example and include a similar one in the Note 8 (an upgrade from the QHD/2K). And another flagship featuring the SD835. So eventually let's see in the real life.

Price and size. I wish this could have been a compact 5.2 inch phone with a $500 price tag.

The S8 really sets a new trend in smartphone form factor. The S8 is still better design-wise and specs-wise. It would be hard for anyone to top it.

no date, no proper real life videos and images... so its basically prototype to make lots of hype...
And maybe that selfi camera look interesting on images, but I can bet my dog and my car, that in real life it will be annoying as hell...

Meh. If you want "innovative" phone just re-launch something from Japanese market. Xiaomi stolen bezelless from Sharp, HTC grip interaction again from Sharp, so now you can probably copy something from Kyocera? Heavy duty "outdoor" phone maybe, or from Sharp again cute assistant?

nickname, 30 May 2017Im srsly trying to find things to be excited about this pho... moreHe could have done sonething truly unique and also get rid of the bottom bezel for a fully bezel-less display. But nope. Is just one of the 12-ish (i dunno the exact number) 3-side bezel-less phone.

Yeah, the 360° camera is cool, i guess... But other than that is just a regular Mi Mix-like phone with less RAM.
Im not saying that it directly copied Xiaomi, but is even made out of the same material, ceramic. There is nothing new to get excited about, not even the f/1.85 camera, because HTC U11 has the best camera from all phone and f/1.7.
We already have a few phones with an integrated 360° camera.
Protruly Darling D7, Protruly Darling D8, Yezz Sfera, Huawei's addon 360° camera, etc...
Is cool nonetheless, but is alreadt becoming mainstream.
Im gonna get the U11 next month anyway. Imo, is the best phone money can buy at this moment. 6GB RAM, 128GB UFS2.1 internal storage, SD835, best camera, best audio and is water resistant.
