Actually to me it's quite expected, if you are someone that dealing with lots of email. Nothing can beat physical keyboard to minimize all the typo. I think those that buy this phone prioritize on writing. Mainly email. Phone for working. A good move considering there are basically no physical keyboard phone on the market right now.

In my opinion this is a terrific looking phone... Very different.

It's a market segment BlackBerry have all to themselves.

They so need to improve their marketing department and oh pricing too..
I would like to buy a blackberry device at least once.
I know It's just another Android device but I keep changing brands every year.

I agree, most have gotten used to onscreen keyboards, but the best typing experience will still come from a physical keyboard. Anyone who has a differing opinion to this: how many times do you press that delete button because of a mistake on an onscreen keyboard because you thought you pressed "i" but instead you pressed "o". With a physical keyboard, the tactile feeling helps you with knowing which buttons you actually pressed.

If anything is dated, it is the fact that onscreen keyboards are still so crappy after so many years. Onscreen keyboards came long before the iphone, and they still can't offer a proper typing experience.

Why do you think likes, and emojis are such big things today?
Because no one can be bothered with trying to type anything meaningfull on a touchscreen.

If touchscreens would have evolved to offer a proper typing experience, there would have been no need for BlackBerry to do phones with physical keyboards.
                  But touchscreens haven't.
And physical keyboards are still superior when it comes to typing.

I can't wait until the dust settles on this one, when everyone realizes they were duped by short-supply marketing and misleading sales hype. This is a crappy phone with a physical keyboard (hello 2009), a budget processor and an atrociously awful design that not very many people are going to buy.

its a nice looking phone, and its something quite different to your usual Android phone so I'm not really surprised by the demand.

I tried a midnight to order from Best Buy.
-- I made another try at 2:00 am and was able to order online for pickup at local store.
-- There was a problem with the credit card, but the bank said that nothing was showing at their end, the message was that they would hold the KEYone for 24 hours. Back to bed.
-- The morning of the 31st things DID get straightened out.
-- When I picked it up at about 1:30 pm, the store had nothing left but online orders...And the guy did say their computers did get bogged down in the wee hours.
-- When I got home at about 3:00 pm, Best Buy was reporting no KEYones available with 250 miles of me in Northern Virginia.
And that's the way it was.

Hoping this might result in more carriers in more countries selling the device.

Or you can go see BlackBerry on Reddit and read about all the manufacturing defects and software problems that this phone has. Kind of confirms that this was never ready for release, and that the few hundred that are out in the wild are first batch test cases.
