Rafe Firmani, 02 Jun 2017Infinity display is a synonim of a tall, ugly and narrow phoneWith S9 and Note 9 the screen would extend to the back! S10 and Note 10 complete round screen - would be called True Infinity display.

Its also dont heat up as much as S7.

Polius, 02 Jun 2017All the haters are butthurt enough to see something good fr... morebetter for me i have a good one.
LG G6 is better for me because i can put an otterbox with a tempered glass protector.
Its impossible to do so on the S8 or S8+
Otherwise the S8 or S8+ is amazing but very fragile so its not for me.
S8 active not available outside USA.
So thats its.
See better for someone dont mean better for everyone.
So tired of Samsung troll..

Anonymous, 02 Jun 2017So are you denying that the S8 / S8+ is one of the best sma... moreNow now.
2016 S7 and S7 edge where a joke.
Just try to play heavy 3d games on it like world of tank blitz ( go into the game setting and put all graphic to max ) and you gonna see how weak its GPU is. ( average of 24 fps in thats game )
My LG G5 do a steady 60 fps same game same setting and iphone 7 as well.
This year S8 is a beast thats i agree but no flat version = crap.
I want to put a rugged case on my phone with tempered glass and its just impossible with thats curve. S8 active only available in USA.
Too bad if there was a flat version available in Canada i would be rocking it.
Now i am rocking a LG G6 instead.

I agree. And unless someone has a need for screen projection, they probably are better off with an S8 instead of a Galaxy Beam.

If the screen was flat this narrow and tall effect would be lesser.

Anonymous, 02 Jun 2017man the s8 is the best flagship right now.. only the finger... moreS8 and S8+ are good phones but there is no way to protect them correctly.
If you put a tempered glass then you cannot use a good case.
If you use a good case like an otterbox you cannot put tempered glass ( because of the edge the good case end up pushing it and making it come off )
So its not the best flagship because of thats.
If its had a flat version its would be hand down the best flagship.

Now that is longer true, so unless you value the S-pen you probably are better off an S8 or S8 Plus in my opinion.

Anonymous, 02 Jun 2017You do understand that they could merely bundle it with S8+... moreObviosuly I can't speak for all Note users but I have just upgraded from the Note 4 to the S8 Plus and I don't miss the pen at all. Personally I found I rarely used the pen. I owned all Note phones up to the 4 and in the early days one big reason to get the Notes was that they were the best hardware available at the time. So for me the pen is pretty much irrelevant and with the hardware now no better than the corresponding S series phones the Notes have become irrelevant. Hence I decided to take the plunge and get the S8 Plus now. The only possible regret I can see is the finger print scanner being better on the Note 8 but that is a massive problem for me.

Anonymous, 02 Jun 2017You do understand that they could merely bundle it with S8+... moreFirst, you don't know what the S-series would cost with an S-pen. You don't work for the company. Second, the bill of materials (cost to make the device) has always been higher for the Note series than the S series (aka... a justification for the higher price). Based on Apple and Microsoft's implementation, it wouldn't be free. As much as many people love the S-pen, there are people who won't use it and don't need the additional cost or size of the device. Aside from the S-pen, the Note series usually does add other things that are developed later such as HDR, iris scanner, secure folder, usb type c....and unlike other companies, Samsung has never been accused of "holding back". You've probably seen words such as "rushed" or "half baked" thrown at them. And lastly, they make the devices, they can release them whenever and however many they want and it is up to the consumers to buy what they want to buy. Neither the consumers nor Samsung have a requirement to justify anything to you or anyone else. Buy it if you want it, don't buy it if you don't. Simple

DNeighbor, 02 Jun 2017Well put. I'm holding off from getting the S8/S8+. I've own... moreYou do understand that they could merely bundle it with S8+ and drop the Note series (and almost did it) without you having to wait for an additional 4 - 5 months, right?
The problem with milking is always finding people to justify it. I called it when people where disappointed that Note series might be dropped. I told them that's a good given what the Note series became. It would mean having it earlier and at a regular S series cost instead of the "Note TM" pricing. People wanted to have nothing with it so we end up with more of the same , ie old hardware + pen = very much contemporary pricing.
