It would seem that BlackBerry is fairing better than many expected, what with Android operating systems on board, and both with and without physical keyboards...

There has been som bad mobile keyboards.
A mobile with a hardware keyboard, in general has a much higher acurracy compared to touchscreens. One can be pushing on the exakt same place on a screen... for example the backspace button when all of a sudden the phone starts typing letters instead. That would never happen on a hardware keyboard.
With a hardware keyboard, it is possible to type much quicker in average, even compared to using the predictive text input features with touchscreen keyboards. BB however offers a combination, where it is possible to swipe to select a word, but it won't change what has actually been typed unless one do that. In difference to touchscreen predictive text input. The reason for that, is the bad accuracy of touchscreen keyboards, that means that the predictive text input system is used to correct when the devices registers the wrong letters. Turn off the predictive text input and test typing for a few days, and you will soon discover that the touchscreen input method rely relies on the predictive input, because you will have a lot of incorrect letters registered with it off.

It's too early to decide... I owned Motorola Flipout and enjoyed every single whatsapp sent from it... the keyboard was great. Also i could touch-type blind on the go without looking at the keyboard much. This does not happen with virtual keyboard for some reason.
This is a very special device and some will definetely appreciate it, but i couldn't vote without trying. Personally, i'd go for a thinner 6-6.2 device with minimal or no bezels for personal use.

If physical keyboards are still being made for phones, don't you think research was done by the manufacturer? Most businesses don't make products that don't earn them a profit or revenue stream.

They have sold out online and in stores with Amazon, Blackberry and most carriers and have set records with some carriers as the largest presale Blackberries ever. I think the issue was that people wanted both the keyboard and security of blackberry but also wanted the apps they did not offer until now.

I'd be shocked if even 10% of the people that voted "I plan on buying one" actually bought one. This isn't some revolutionary new concept. Why would people that weren't interested in buying the BB Classic or Priv all the sudden be interested the KEYone?
The market has spoken on this numerous times now. BB just isn't listening.

I loved sliding hardware keyboard from Motorola and Sony Ericsson models.
Hardware keyboard is unsurpassed, but gives weight ... for the business environment is irreplaceable

This phone looks great, different than others, good build quality but 3 gigs of ram in 2017 means it's good only for a year or so. On top small screen and too pricey. So no for most of the people I guess.

Just about everybody that got this first batch is having some sort of problem.
That's why BlackBerry/TCL delayed so long and purposely limited the initial batch.
Don't count on lying BlackBerry to tell the truth. They are flaunting being "sold out" when in reality, Amazon customer service reps and BestBuy customer service reps separately said the initial shipment was very very low, only about a dozen BestBuy stores even got stock (a single phone per store) AND there was never even a CDMA version as falsely advertised.
They've lost me as a customer over this.

I'm not a target for such phones but still. It looks like these guys who make these never tried to find out who actually uses them, what do they need. Of course it will fail - regular guys just don't really care (en masse) and BB totally missed target audience - they need complete keyboard, with more buttons and larger buttons. They basically need modern E90 - with five rows (at least four), punctuation on separate buttons, numbers on separate buttons, arrows and so on. And they need these buttons to be usable with big fingers, two handed, fast and blind. This audience was missed completely. And BB seems to have forgot that business people that don't have need of keyboard now buy iPhones and Galaxy Sx. This is a perfect marketing blunder - a phone with multiple target audiences neither of which it can satisfy.

Im definitely interested, but I'll wait for a price drop and for Blackberry to release few OTA to fix any software niggles.
I'll also wait to see if they release a Dual-SIM variant.

Very easy made-up statistic when they only had a thousand ready on launch date (out of which, it looks like 90% have significant manufacturing defects).

IDK how some of you guys just here to complain about the phone. Maybe you might have a problem with the physical keyboard but the KeyOne is already sold out. Obviously they're people out there that's interested in the phone. If you don't like physical keyboard go read up on a Samsung device or something. Your obviously on the wrong article.
