atleast 98% of Music Players for Android classifies music files by artist in ascending order, I always use music apps that classifies the title of the song in ascending order rather than the artist, which is the normal player of Asus, Lenovo, Oppo.
PowerAmp and Aimp are options also that you will not regret if you don't mind about their skin :3

Breaksense, 05 Jun 2017This. I used PowerAmp. I use Play Music. Don't know why... moreBecause it is the only one to offer non resampled music playback and true 24 bit playback, every other player resamples it to 48khz before sending it to the dac

Most of those are just third-party front end to Android media server. Poweramp and VK have own media servers which are drastically less power hungry.

When I first got an Android during the Gingerbread days, I used Mort Player, because it had a folder playback. Then as Android matured, Mort Player got lift behind in terms of UI and lack of gapless playback. At that point I switched to PowerAMP. While PowerAMP has a nicer UI and gapless playback, Mort Player still has a better folder browser. Why these music players can't have a decent folder playback option, or folder playback at all is beyond me.

Breaksense, 05 Jun 2017This. I used PowerAmp. I use Play Music. Don't know why... moreWell, poweramp suck if you want to just look at your music player. If you actually want to listen to your musics, there are NONE of these list can match Poweramp in term of SQ.

Do any of these apps, aside from Google Music, allow you to play your music that you have purchased from Google, or have uploaded to Google?

This.
I used PowerAmp. I use Play Music. Don't know why you all kiss PowerAmps a**hole... There are better alternatives out there and definitely nicer looking. About Play Music, well lets say it does some things in a retarded way (typical for Google). Other than that I find it satisfying. I use it with Cyanogens DSP Manager (yes that old one) and works like a charm.
Gonna try some stuff from here, no harm in exploring.

Which of these music player apps supports multiple timers to play a single track or playlist? Can the timer be set for just playing once or to repeat every hour, every day every weekday at a time the user selects? How many such timers can be set?
