    an insecure person big time!
I briefly mentioned file manager came on Symbian and windows before android and didn't mention viruses or any other nonsense u just spilled into a large essay. I guess u love your phone too much to get wound up by user of non android hahaha :)

All of this is part of the plan of apple. They will keep giving features to iOS with a dropper because that sells. Anyway I think it's really good see some advances in the tablets department because it's needed, in android the situation could not be worst. now the best tablet is the galaxy tab s3 which is 4:3 aspect ratio, There's no much choices out there (waiting for Sony to bring something new).

Anonymous, 06 Jun 2017and windows and Symbian had it long before android! guess a... moreDo u even understand the DIFFERENCE between "File Explorer" & "File Manager"

          Apple use "file manager", means ALL it could do are ONLY THE MOST BASIC THINGS;
copy, paste, cut, rename, and delete, and "open with..." at most.

While "file explorer" is, like Android or Windows (PC) OS, lets u do ALL things, including modifying the system OS itself for "better suitability to ur taste"
I believed they won't add "sideload" or "share" as, same as half assed bluetooth reason, "share/send to..." & "sideload" means ENCOURAGING PIRACY &virus spreading BS...

BTW, don't gimme virus-related BS, because, if don't do anything funny, installed the latest security patch, & antivirus, u won't EVER encounter such problem.
I sideloaded LOTS of Android apps & often do bluetooth transfer, but NEVER ONCE got virus/trojan/worm/whatever BS u are throwing at, in my 3 years-old phone.

BTW, I use Asus Padfone S & still get security updates & can upgrade my Android OS version up to MM (official ones) if I want,so the claim of "no support for updates" BS is not necessarily true

If thqt's the fact, why bother JUSTIFYING their acts of "prison guard" & let urself become more and more DUMB as u are no more than "cash cows prisoner" trapped in NEVER-ENDING money-squuezing business of Apple....

but fandroids are becoming boring so cant laugh at them as much anymore :(
as they keep repeating same nonsense on every apple article, that, android had it first or a long time ago.
big deal. only haters have to post negative comments and shows they have issues :)))

A little to late for a file manager now? I still have a spare Windows Mobile phone from 2008 which even has a file manager.

I'm able to copy, paste, edit, delete, transfer data/music via usb by drag and drop. Still something Apple cannot do and it's 2017.

Really prehistoric and outdated that we are in 2017 and the fact Apple still lack such basic functions is an embarrassment.

I came here not to read the Post, but to enjoy the expected "Debate" in the comments, LIke " only now Apple will add file manager?!! it is use by Androids since ages, hehe"
                          my point is:
-Apple will use file manager, thank you Apple. I enjoyed using iOS even without it. hopefully we can also added files from and to PCs and Mc books.

i tried putting a file on my iPad once and then tried to localize it for use in an app, a password manager. getting it on the device was a struggle already, but then i realized there was no file manager so i had no idea where anything actually was. after nearly ragequitting on the endeavor, i made it work using the cloud functionality.
coming from a Windows PC and an Android phone, iOS is just painful to use. a file manager should greatly help the issue

is that 2017 right why apple introducing 2013 apps. hope they don't call it unique or innovative.

i dont care who invented something first.
sadly it still doesnt allow torrenting (without jailbreaking), android can do that..
