There is really no one to compete in their price/performance field. And with half tera GB... This looks more interesting than S3 or Z4, maybe they got some premium features, but new ipad is premium as whole. Closest one is new surface pro, but just being close. There is just one hope in android world, nokia.

Surface Pro is far more beneficial than this.
The Ipad is no more relevant people needs something that is more innovative than simply tablet that costs the world.

No thanks. Yes, I hated Samsung getting away with low internal storage getting life support from slut slots.
Samsung Tab S3 is not exactly cheap you know, and they stick a 32gb into a premium tablet... zzzz

What about streaming services, most, if not all allows for offline download use - so again whats the probem? love or hate Apple - but the company have created so many usecases that has eliminated "old" tech - except for the jack, huge misstep there... :D

I dont give a flying cow for file managers and aspect ratios, if the general tablet experience is top notch. If I'm going to invest in a tablet, I, as a customer, wants some guarantees that the product I purchase, delivers the both on hardware and software. And as much as I want an android tablet, I just know, based on what I'm going to use it for, is literally sh*t. Compared to the entertainment value given by the iPad.

I had an iPad for 5 years (iPad 2, then iPad 4, then Air 2). If I used social apps I would agree. Since I don't Apple is ages back. Only lately they have put proper multitasking (iOS 11)...
Up until IOS 11 they were stuck to 2011

About half of the most used apps have a tablet ui version (if that's what you meant by not upscaling). Notably missing is the social apps because ... Apple
YouTube has a tablet version, maps, gmail, pretty much most/all google apps. Microsoft apps too, most news aggregator. Social apps are missing. Something is fishy ... Or rather Appley

Great hardware no doubt. Fast processor, great display and a proper drawing stylus.
Unfortunately hamstrung by a closed, limited and dumbified OS. And the prices are ridiculously high to be honest. 10000 USD for something running an OS as limited as iOS is daylight robbery to be honest, despite the quality of the hardware.
Get a surface pro 4 and you can do every thing you could have done on an ipad plus a thousand more things that are beyond the capabilities of an ipad. And the windows 10 being not optimized for touch issue is overrated and overstated. I can use it perfectly fine without a keyboard and mouse and do pretty much everything I can on any tablet. If you have thick sausages for fingers, you might have a problem. Regular users like me will not.
Lastly, would LOVE to see this chipset running android. A much more capable OS than iOS and comes with proper file access. Will never happen i know.

I would say that the avg user will find that more useful that dragging it to the specific app in the itunes.. That is if it doesn't accidentally clean up the whole thing while "syncing"
As an ipad pro user i bought it for content consumption on a larger screen after a nexus 7..imagine my astonishment when met with a rudimentary mxplayer... Aaah the horror... Then with the bootloops unresponsive touch screen runaway battery.... I sometimes wish i went for a surface instead...
And as far as scaling goes most standard apps do have tab versions on android.. And I'd pick a full version app over a beautiful app anyday...
On a side note reading on the ipad is a pleasure.. Recommended for the bookworms like me

Hmm i always thought it to be a very flexible option buy a cheaper tablet or phone now and invest in a large sd card later on.. Its much better than paying a premium for storage that is unnecessarily fast and pricey

I have no interest in Apple as a whole - but afaik Apple is the only company delivering on hardware/software when it comes to iPad and the "tablet experience"
And yes sure.. Access to file managers etc is a nice thing to have.. but the "general/normal" consumer dont give a damn about that - and the starting price for a Z4 tablet, when it launched was equal to that of a laptop - why not just get the laptop instead and have even better features than what the tablet would deliver? (same goes for iPads if it was for the file manager etc.)
And yes, I read that you got your tablet on a flash sale, good for you, doesnt change the fact that Apple just simply provides a better experience with tablets..

I got no interest in Apple as a whole, but you got to admit that Apple, is the only hardware/software based company that actually delivers on both ends when it comes to iPad..
So again.. which OS is a better fit for tablets if not for windows with poor touch optimization or android with limited tablet support?

One is using Intels with hulking coolers and weight more than 800grams making it impossible to use for extended periods as tablets . The other measures a libre or 1.5 libres (depending on screen size), despite the bigger screen.
One has apps designed around high DPI to be easily used with finger. The other is running a desktop based OS that is designed around mouse and keyboards and touch is an afterthought.
One has 10+ hours of screen on time, the other barely lasts 6 hours.
One has at least powerful content creation software which can in part justify its problems.
The other has the best in class content consumption software.
So -no- depending on the use you'd buy the right "computer". If you're a designer you're still better of off a 2in1 (most probably). But if you want to do some drawing on the side (and just that) you're better off with the real tablet instead of buying a laptop with touch support.

The new iPad pro 10.5 has only one interesting new feature when compared with the previous gen iPad pro 9.7. It is the 120 Hz refresh rate. Other than that there isn't anything exciting to switch from previous gen iPad pro.
As for the iOS 11, I'm looking forward to the new metal 2 api and the new Files app. HEVC support is also a nice feature to have.
