It is a pity the Nexus line will be neglected. Google should show more support to the old line.

So unlike last year, the LG V-series won't be the first smartphone with the new version of Android.

AnonD-428442, 07 Jun 2017Not necessarily true. Sure google will release O for Pixel ... moreOf course it depends on various factors including carrier and location
If you live in Afghanistan, a third world country or even Canada , you are most likely to receive the updates later on no matter what phone you have.
I live in the UK so I am looking forward to them.

And Sony should be the first non-Google Android OEM to get it. Thank Sony for improving our audio experience.

Not necessarily true. Sure google will release O for Pixel first, obviously, but the way they roll out updates doesn't mean your Pixel will get the OTA right away. It's the luck of the draw. I have used Nexus since One, GNex, 4, and 5. And while sometimes I get updates fairly on time, many times I won't get OTA until 2 to 3 months later. It depends on where your handset is on Google's list.

This should be Android 5.3 since it's basically the same experience since lollipop. The jump from old touchwiz to grace ux has been 10x a bigger difference than 3 Android iterations will be.
Funny how iOS will be on its 11th version and one can hardly tell it apart from its first.
And still people rush to buy new phones just to have a bigger number when they visit the software info page.

Seriously speaking, I think that stock Android O is just a minor upgrade over Nougat and Marshmallow, especially if you came from manufacturers's custom skin like Samsung Experience, or other custom Android skin.
