I was/am a fan of the under the display fingerprint scanner until I mused what if you dropped the device and cracked the screen. Would the scanner still work?
If not maybe best Samsung place it in a more convenient position on the back of the phone or come up with an alternative.

As a programmer I reckon I could conjure up the solution in 3 hours LOL.. But then I'm not working for Samsung so good luck to Samsung programmers.. If you fail to program it just provide the hardware and disable it and then let the other creative genius programmers at XDA to enable it and put it to use LOL

Apple have it long time ago in patents.. so not suprising they should have R & D very long already.
So if Note do not have is ok. But if iPhone do not have, it is major shame!

How about tapping the home three times to activate fingerprint capture or a long press using flat thumb or using voice and bixby or hammering the screen or a long slow lick the screen, that would set new standards.

How about using the 3d touch feature did to apple's screen? pressing it with force to unlock/unlock the device? and then once coded, add some more features unto it like disabling the fingerprint scanner(w/ 3d touch) once phone is in use to avoid unnecessary fingerprint scanning, well, at least it will lessen the problem. kind a help though.
