Samsung Galaxy Note8 to miss on under-glass fingerprint scanner
Samsung launched its Galaxy S8 flagship with the fingerprint scanner on the back since it couldn't place it under the screen. Now we hear the company is still struggling with the implementation of the under-glass sensor and the Galaxy Note8 might arrive without that as well.
According to industry experts, Samsung already knows how to build the scanner. The problem ahead of the Korean manufacturer is security-related, a Samsung Electronics official revealed. Insiders shared another issue - the phone doesn't understand if you are trying to lock/unlock the device or you are simply using the phone.
The Galaxy Note8 is expected to be unveiled this September. The phone could arrive with 6.3” Infinity Display and a dual camera at the back.
