OnePlus isn't squat without CyanoGenMod..
On top of everything they don't make waterproof phones, no SD card slot.

Performance is determined like so
Ram amount > IO speed >>>> CPU speed.
Expect this "gimmicky" phone to destroy any other in this year too. OnePlus understands what is important and gives us those features instead of edge displays, 4k resolution, retina unlock...
Thank god there is someone who understands the right things. Unfortunately she has to fight the hordes of fanboys who are basically demanding gimmicks that they call innovation.

BTW android O will kill battery leaks from background apps. Your battery issue has already been addressed by Google.
Onopy problem now remains Windows users like you who don't know that RAM is the most important thing and OEMs who are trying to be cheap and provide their "flagships" with little ram.
Expect the world to bow down again to OnePlus. That no name Chinese knock off maker who has the gall to not listen people spewing nonsense and add as much ram as possible.

Just can't imagine what a waste of hardware will the 8GB RAM be.
Xperia XZ Premium blows the 3T away with 6GB RAM. If more RAM does indeed do some speed improvements, then Idk why no one's interested of making 32GB RAM smartphones.

I think they have to learn from Apple every thing about Ram, SoC, Support etc. But Not Design :P. I am using Oneplus 2 but sadly No update No support. I can give Guaranty that oneplus 5 cant beat iphone SE in Speed Test & Ram Management. I am Fan Boy of Oneplus & Apple.

A comp... moreNo one would say more Ram makes a device faster but what more ram (up to a point) does is make the phone less likely to stutter as Android is very bad at memory handling. I think 6gb is way more enough though 8gb is a bit over kill.
But the 8gb might be for just a few countries I bet the rest will get 6gb.

I hate this 8GB gimmick.
They can save that cost and innovate better other parts, or save to lower its cost. No double they will charge a premium for that.. and specs lovers will flood to them but left confused why their phones is just the same .. no change in speed.

Yeah, absolutely well done to OP, along side with the (ZTE) Nubia Z17 & Zenfone AR as well, etc. To keep raising the bar of technology always higher. And to give example/ encourage the other brands to eventually follow, etc.

me being a op fan big time , but wont buy op3t nor op5 , first because of the insane price hike , second because i enjoyed choosing battery life over high performing/battery draining devices , so i'm using now redmi note 4 snapdragon 3gb ram version and its very satisfying .
