Obviously ... moreI'm the one who was complaining about the Z3 being stuck on May 2016 security patch, but yeah the Galaxy S4 came out before Google getting serious and still got a more recent patch than the Z3, the S5 got a 2017 patch after 3 years. So Samsung can do this but not Sony? huh?

Let me clear things out for ya. Jrharbort was criticizing how this priceless company had stopped sending security patches to his Z3 and well you're definitely replying to his comment. If you do not wish any netizen who felt that your comment is misleading tho, you shouldn't replied to his comment at the first place. Eg... 'My dad has stopped sending me to school!' 'Boy you were talking about recently? Stop blaming on him. As far as I know, your dad been sending you on board for the past few years?' So who's getting confused here?

Shadocx, 14 Jun 2017What is being attacked?Exactly, nothing, but the "what about xxx Samsung device getting updates" comments out of nowhere certainly made it seem like people were implying I was doing such a thing.
I'm just saying Sony is doing a much better about frequent security updates with their newer devices than they were with older ones. And I'm curious to see if they can keep it up.
I own a Z3 Compact, I know what their previous track record with updating older devices is like (also running May 1st 2016 security patch, last update after 1.5 years).

I was comparing the Sony of today to the Sony of 3 years ago. I'm not pinning Sony against other companies here. I don't understand the "well what about Samsung" comments from clearout of the blue, I wasn't making any such cross-company comparisons. I never even mentioned Samsung. No need to be so eager to lash out and defend something that isn't even being attacked, let alone talked about, to begin with.

My Z3 got May 2016 security patch and came out around September 2014.
Then the S5 got April 2017 security patch and came out around April 2014

For the ones asking how long they will rollout of the XZ, As long as the do it for the premium the will do it for the XZ and perform to because there r from the same class.

Yep, got it yesterday(India). I still don't like what sony did with the notification. I thought they'll change a few things on notifications.

Sony is already pushing updates more frequently than they did with past devices. We'll see how long they keep it up, but they're already doing better than they were 2~3 years ago.
