So HMD finally sees the light?
That's a weird surprise. Western phone makers hate ram because it cuts their margins. Both immediately and in the long run when 4GB phones should start choking.
I think HMD is the first maker selling widely to the west that is using the (almost mid range by now) 6GB amount.
Cue to the rabid fans to come here claiming that 4,GB is enough, heck even 2GB is enough ... My toaster has 512k memory, so evidently 512k is enough too. Let's ignore that a phone is often the primary device for a majority of people so future proofing and feature loading it enough will never be enough.
I'm looking at a 3 year old phone (Note 4) and cry, for never again did a phone came as feature loaded and future proofed. It's still one of the best phones out there all because Samsung was not settling for less back then...

It's taking forever, Nokia was my 1st phone, I was really looking forward for Nokia 8 or 9 but half the year is almost gone. Oneplus 5 will be unveiled tomorrow. There are lots of options out there. The LG v30 will be out sooner than Nokia 8-9 if Nokia keeps procastinate.
Samsung offering $200 trade in on top of $100 discount for the s8/s8+, I couldn't wait any longer, s8 unlocked for $470 = can't beat that.
I'll consider Nokia maybe in 18months.

Hmm "Electrical identical". This does not sound like a different chip, more like a different cabinet...
