(stopwatch wise: it's 0.18s VS 4.19s an incremental decrease of 97% of time consumed)

AnonD-402029, 27 Jun 2017seriously sammy..many people dont like the position of fing... moreA little note for you my friend. there's actually a tiny barrier (heighted about 20micron. high enough to notice you're not in the right place) between the camera and the scanner. so you DEFINITELY feel you're not in the right place. I am an S8 owner. and smudging the camera NEVER happend to me. experience the phone before you have an opinion.

Samsung think ever... moreI own the galaxy S8 (Standard. 5.8) and Although I DO have pretty long and slender fingers ( my index is slightly over 3.3inches) I do find it easy to open on a standard sized S8. but EXTREMELY difficult on the plus version. and insanely hard (Assuming size) on Note8.

3300mah battery (wow!!! same processor of s8 and s8+ with additional features of dual cam and SPen.. GOOD LUCK BATTERY)

Probably true bcs evan blass said that the heart rate scanner sits between the cameras and the fingerprint and that the cameras are lined horizontally

Hopefully the battery actually isn't 3300mAh. I don't care how optimized or how efficient the processor is, more capacity is better (at least for Samsung phones).

That includes the Always Screen On? Yeah, that's 10 hours. Usually people are out of the house more than 14 hours. You really will need to plug in before going home.
The reality is, I only come close to 7-8 hours SOT when using the S7 Edge and Note7. This is with Youtube, consuming over 1GB over wifi. The SOT will be less if you are to use LTE. Realistically with LTE, up to 6 hours SOT. These are all the more efficient Exynos variants. Snapdragon is lower SOT - 5 hours SOT.
And the 10% reduction of the battery will not help for a bigger screen size. The power-saving efficiency of the newer processor will not help if you need the same energy to power up LTE, screen, and you ARE ACTUALLY using the device. NOT Always On Screen display.

Samsung think everyone do not need a case..
This will be a big fail.. Most people need 2 hands to use the fingerprint scanner now.

This Design look so Bad for me.
Very disappointing 😢
I prefer the design before which Camera is vertical and Fingerprint below the camera is the perfect position for the fingerprint.
If this is final design for Note 8. I Will keep with my Galaxy S7 Edge or Get Note7R 🤔.

3300mAh battery is too less practically for 6.3 inch device... You cannot give the reason for previous failure for this... To overcome the previous mistakes is called as successful engineering rather than playing safe with the less...

And this was taken the next morning, after the previous day's use, including working 10 hrs on 3rd shift, where I keep the screen on constantly for messaging, music, etc.
Battery life is amazing!
