Not far to four leaf clover like screen with camera on top and fingerprint on bottom. Of course, everyone will like it. :)

It will be more beautiful if only the camera bump is gone. Vertical dual camera setup looks pretty awkward too, except it placed exactly on the center of the phone. I don't really like the idea of top cut screen for speakerphone/front camera/sensor...

Beautiful design, hopefully the Pixel 2 adopts a similar design. Essential has already done it, so its not like Google and HTC/LG cant do it.

it is ugly as hell but it will sell because it's iPhone. Apple is try to copy likes of LG g6 and xiaomi mi mix.. But failed. These two have great screen to body ratio.

For one thing the "software updates" are part of it, since it lures people into 'updating' their devices in small steps to a version the does not run well on the hardware, a clever way to incite people to upgrade the device. IF they allowed downgrades to any previous version of your choice THEN you would have had a point....
The LiIon batteries of e.g. smartphones are parts that wears down naturally over about two years, and then need replacements. Paying a service technician to do this raises the price, and thus lowers the price difference to buy a new device, inciting people to upgrade the device.
Imagine you had to take your hoover to a repair shop to replace the filter... Or your lamp or car to change a bulb.... it is a similar thing. A normal wear part that should be easily user replaceable.
