30 June 2017
The charging coil is attached to the frame, leading to the assumption the V30 will have a glass back and sealed battery.

apart from anything else , in an emergency FM radio is very handy for the news if other forms of communication are down.

AnonD-241270, 30 Jun 2017OLED and glass back will make this phone a huge thing, but ... moreCertainly not all changes are appreciated , by the same token I have no doubt the battery life will be leaps and bounds better than previous model s as long as LG does not put a ridiculous tiny battery in it to make it thin.
also it will probably like the G6 be water resistant
, and while you no doubt will lose some of the good old characteristics and features ,
There will be some good new features to replace them.

        Better, much better.

No removable battery = no buy. I will not enable planned obsolescence. The fact that LG finally gave in with the G6 pretty much guarantees this phone will be the same: an $800 disposable device.

Loss of IR blaster - it was handy, but I never found myself using it really often.
Loss of FM radio - I didn't use it personally, but I can see its uses
Loss of removable battery - *sigh* stupid trend is stupid.
Loss of secondary screen - not sure...as someone stated before..similar functionality can be done in a single panel on an OLED...so the second panel wont be required for the same effect, I personally used the second screen a lot (have apps up and control music playback simultaneously)

Here's the matter at hand, the V series has always been advertised as the multimedia monster version of the G series. With extended camera functions, more mics, media tweaks, and upgraded innards to support it. As long as these base multimedia features are kept, the V series will remain what it was marketed to be. So the move to follow some trends, for sales makes sense...regardless of how salty it makes us. If they remove the 3.5mm jack, or downgrade the number of mics, or something on the multimedia creation/playback front...then ill drop the phone entirely...

Cool. Guess my V20 will be my final LG smartphone. Perfect phablet. Need my IR blaster, removable battery, metal back, and FM radio. The first Pixel will also hold more value once they remove headphone jack this year.

2016 flagships were a better crop. The 2017 is removing legacy features and heading to stupid trends.

This could be my next phone, if they release it worldwide, instead of some picked countries only. Fingers crossed.

If LG drops the 2nd screen, people will drop the LG just like they dropped the 2nd screen.

While it's nice that they are bringing in new features like the OLED screen and IP68 protection, it's sad that they are chopping off "legacy" features like FM Radio, Infrared blaster and removable battery.

I guess LG have been forced to move with the trend.

If the main panel is OLED they can implement the same functionality as a strip along the top without needing a second panel.

OLED and glass back will make this phone a huge thing, but remember V series is well known by swap battery capability and second screen...

This may be a game changer for LG and the first two V models will be unforgetable because they have "unique" features and this wont have them.

For me LG died when remove some features i like the most like IR Blaster and battery removable, and i will keep my V10 cause he have all i need on a phone!

Goodbye LG, you are trying to copy sammycrappy removing useful things and now i wont buy another phone from u...my eyes are on Huawei now.
