Panji, 04 Jul 2017If this true, I hope the camera still use S8 sensor. Please... moreDo you believe in Santa and unicorns too? Mini from Sammy and htc means crappy hardware to an expensive price. Zx compact is even said to come with sd 835. So when that mini comes, Sony will once again have a better mini. To a lower price too.

Tom....., 04 Jul 2017The S8's' Edge' screen has a Curvier screen than S6. No, its not. The curved is very subtle it is practically unnoticeable. I've watched videos and played games with it. I didnt even noticed there was a curve.

Tom....., 04 Jul 2017The S8's' Edge' screen has a Curvier screen than S6. I think yeah it is curvier but doesn't go that much on the sides anymore.
It's like a bit more square. sorry my english is bad, idk how to explain it.

AnonD-234645, 03 Jul 2017considering what you said. a proper size would be about-ish... more5,15'' is 114 mm tall. Plus 7 mm bottom bezel placing top edge of the screen at 121 mm from bottom vs 127 mm of S6, which is unusable one hand. So no. 5,15'' is still too much. 115 mm from bottom edge is somehow usable one hand for an average person on this planet (169 cm tall, 164 cm for woman and 174 cm for man).

An average person, 169 cm, has just under 110 mm distance from palm stop line to tip of the thumb. Making top of the screen accessible without sliding a phone in hand.

Considering 7 mm bottom bezel of S8, with 115 mm from bottom edge would place screen height into 108 mm. That is 4,9''. 5,0'' is possible, though a bit too much. 5,15'' would be too much. 5,3'' is completely pointless.

All calculations considers 16:9 screen. Someone suggested 18:9 on new Xperia Compact. That is highly unlikely. Would be too narrow, yet too tall. Unusable in all ways starting from ergonomics and ending with narrow UI (web sites). May be not so noticeable on big screens, but not on smaller. 18:9 would place usability to 4,7''. Even smaller. Actually 16:10 suits better one-hand devices. Wider but shorter. As width is still much smaller than height, making it usable one hand in all directions. In this way 5'' would suit usability range. And 5,15'' would be just slightly over the range, like 5,0'' for 16:9.

I think this would be great, coming from an iPhone SE. Love smaller phones because I don't really watch videos or anything to warrant a bigger screen.
