Please don't compare a modified Cortex A73 with an ordinary and simple A53 because is evident the difference. The difference in the same frequency is a about 4 times in favor of A73 approximately.

Looking good. The only downer is the reduced battery capacity, but the good thing they had plenty to start with & 3790 is still a very good capacity. I think Xiaomi have another winner in their hands.

Home button can be seen as no more fixing the back button at the right hand side, hopefully the redmi5 not note will retain the size of 5inch. Time to buy.

Perhaps Your calculator will launch 0.05 sec faster than A53 cores, congratilation. Everything is just marketing tricks to make you think you need more power.

AceShot, 04 Jul 2017Really? Please explain, there are no noticeble differences ... moreI explain to you. The Snapdragon 630 is a octo-core Cortex A53 and the Snapdragon 660 has 8 cores Kryo 260, it means a modified and customized cpu, the 4 cores with higher performance are based in Cortex A73 the other remaining cores are based in Cortex A53 that is the explanation. Besides to have 4 cores A73, these are customized and the other 4 cores A53 are also modified for have better performance. And the GPU Adreno 512, inside of SD 660 has better performance than the 510 gpu inside of the chipsets SD 650/652/653, which are chipsets of medium to high performance and the 660 is superior to its, you got it?

SD 630 and SD 660 both are very efficient because of higher clock speed and DDR4 RAM instead DDR3.

Since redmi note 3 is older phone with better gpu it's likeable to run better. Most if not all games don't need anything more than 4 CPU cores at around 1.6Ghz and more than 1GB free.

Ossie., 05 Jul 2017The adreno 530 does have some guts, I'm kind of surprised w... moreYou don't see better visuals, not because adreno 530/540 or 506 gpu is slow, but because 90% of games are made according to what average user phone is. And average user phone has 1gb ram and mali-400. Yes, old and slow mali 400. You can check stats on unity page about what spec are most popular. Most phones have old spec and are keeping evolution slow, just like PS3 kept games looking same for years until everybody siwtched to PS4. Ofcourse some games try to provide the best and they lag on powerfull gpus like 510 etc, but that's just because of optimization, not lack of performance, because 506 510 530 are still new gpus, most games are made for gpus like adreno 306, mali 720 which are out for like 5 years.

You wont see difference in speed really in cpu (you calculator will load probably 0.01 sec faster) while games are subject to optimization.

My old Redmi note 3 with 2x A72 can run games like Assassin's creed identity almost perfectly, which isn't the case with newer Redmi note 4 with 8x a53.
