So in lieu of a Finger print scanner the phone uses a facial recognition thing to unlock and lock? Is that how it works? Or is it for another purpose?

A smart idea for the midrange. But the chipset is at best mediocre and it should sport dual cameras.

Those phones are a joke. But I understand. Everyone want to look cool with their "premium wannabe" phone. So why bother increase costs and put a decent chip in the device? People are going to buy it anyway. At least it's not a crappy MediaTek-underpowered processor...

If LG want supper low end. It should go with Snapdragon 450 that build on power saving 14nm

3 low midrange phones with no fingerprint reader, a crappy SOC on 28nm, but with stunning FullVision displays like the their brother G6. But these 3 phones will surely sale good because most people buy phones by looks, not knowing anything else about them.

I would have been OK with the snapdragon 630 at least. Oh well let's see what other "mini" or "compact" phone will be offered this year. I am really hoping for an Xperia xz compact. Nearly flagship in all aspects but smaller like in the good old days. Now it is hard to find a good all around small phone. I am OK withe a bigger screen size but the physical phone size has to be smaller than the current trend.
