Anonymous, 12 Jul 20176.0" is really nice, I used to own the Nexus 6 and that scr... moreThe 6" Nexus 6 actually has a display area about a square inch bigger than this 6" Pixel XL2 if the 18:9 aspect ratio becomes final. I guess Google is joining the ultrawide 18:9,18.5:9,etc. insanity. When will phone manufacturers realize that big phablet enthusiasts buy a phablet primarily for the screen size? This stupid ratio serves no meaningful purpose other than making a phone easier to hold. Photos, videos, gaming, etc. will not be significantly larger due to the stupid 18:9 ratio. If I want to hold a phone easily with a single hand, I am buying a 5.0" phone in standard 16:9 aspect ratio and not some stupid 6.0" phone that pretends to have a big display but is actually about a square inch smaller in screen area than standard 16:9 ratio. To add insult to injury, it further reduces the reduced screen area with horrid black bars. And no, displaying full screen will not compensate. People in movies/photos with chopped off heads and feet is never pleasant! And if you do a lot of reading in your phone, it is going to be unpleasant. The human visual field has an aspect ratio between 4:3 and 16:9 (the widest). The reading experience will be cramped. 18:9 seems pleasant until you realize it is utterly distorted being twice as long as it is wide and having black bars or chopped heads and feet all over.

I'm fine with this design. Although if it's going to be that big, why not bring back the front facing stereo speakers?
If it doesn't have a 3.5 mm jack though, forget it. You can't make a phone that big and then make excuses about not having enough room for a 3.5 mm jack.
I also am not a big phone of LG. They do not tend to have good call quality, especially for in call noise cancellation. Wish Google had stuck with HTC (although not if that would mean getting the horrible glass back from the U11--I'm glad Google is sticking with the aluminum unibody--glass backs are ugly, fragile, and dumb).

Google Pixel 2 XL gets all the good stuff from LG's FullVision, HTC U11's squeeze & Samsung's AMOLED panel & cameras, maybe even with One+ pricing, lol.

Since this isn't the final design, hopefully the top and bottom bezels get reduced more. Also, I don't understand why they persist with the glass shield on the back, I think it looks ugly. Should be just all the same on the back, none of this 2 tone BS.

Anonymous, 12 Jul 2017No tele camera, no buyUmm why are you even interested in the telephoto camera,I mean the fact that only good thing it does is portrait mode (the zoom and bokeh effect can also be done by using one b/w camera instead with better low light photos),and also the fact that optical zoom should always be backed by an ois every time due to the fact that when you zoom in on a image ,the when the shake done by you with hand is very little might result in much much more shake in the zoomed photo and even having a duel camera most probably you won't even have ois makes it a little less usable

Please don't use two different color on back panel..
Outcome: if it (this thing: P2XL) has two different color on back panel --> Never buy never

Squeeze functionality? But...why? Why not just introduce a gesture or something?
If there is no headphone jack I'm gonna be pissed.
I'm fine with the 2:1 narrow display.

Apparently the next pixel phones won't have a headphone jack. Why are these companies taking away things people want and need and replacing them with features NOBODY asked for? Then they wonder why sales are bad...

Sqeeze functionality?? What and why? It's a weird idea in the first place and also could easily be replaced by an extra button. Please, no one needs unnecessary features.
