Anonymous, 13 Jul 2017Then buy nothing. Just keep using G5 and V20 forever. It's ... moreThat's my plan. I do use a Pixel because Verizon's comes unlocked. I'm giving my V20 (T-Mobile) some vacation time. I noticed my veins get cramped up in my right wrist for holding it too long. My G5 and Pixel don't do this.

Typing on my G5 now and it's still quite a breeze. Only issue I have with it is the image retention using a gray wallpaper that I don't want to change. You can see ghosting like if looking at the curved reflection from an S7 edge.

G5
Pixel
V20

I had to rank my V20 below my Pixel again just because of its bulkiness and generating electric currents through my veins with its mostly metal exterior. The S7 edge does this too with glass rear and overheats just as badly.

For people who love smartphones like I do, be careful not to hold any phone for so long. It can ruin blood flow in your veins.

leledumbo, 13 Jul 2017> Batteries have limited lifespan (2 years) Nope. ... more>> Batteries have limited lifespan (2 years)

      > Nope.

      Yeps, they have.

Although it is not exactly 2 years but actually 500 full charge cycles (certain LG batteries have 800 charge cycles lifespan). 500 Charge cycles is about 2 years if you recharge your device each day. And after that period the battery still works but looses about 30% or more of it's total charge which enforces you to recharge the next 500 cycles even faster. After approximately 3 to 4 years your phone can hold no more than 25 to 30% of the total charge it once had. Eventually your phone will not hold a charge anymore.

      >> When the non-removable battery in your phone won't hold a charge, what will you do?

      > Manufacturer's service center can replace it.

      A) Which means you have to send the phone to the servcie center and wait for it to get back. Which takes from 2 to 3 weeks without a phone.
      B) Depending how much care the service center has for your device you might get your device returned in much worse physical condition with scratches, scuffs and dents. Especially a problem with modern devices with fragile glass backs and scratch susceptible aluminum
      C) Costs! Sending the device away to let someone else put a new battery in is more expensive than popping off the backcover and replacing the battery yourself.

Also powerbanks are no good here as they recharge the primary (build-in) battery. Which in this case is faulty/end-of-life.

An interesting read on batteries is this: http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/how_to_prolong_lithium_based_batteries

People who don't want to have to go indoors, assuming they can, or not answer be able to answer a call because they have been caught out in the rain. I would have thought that was common sense, apparently not.

Who cares about water resistance? Most people never expose their phones to water. The marketing and reviewers manipulated people and created the need for water resistance to justify and divert attention away from the non-removable battery and planned obsolescence policy.

Batteries have limited lifespan (2 years). When the non-removable battery in your phone won't hold a charge, what will you do? The water resistance and power banks won't save your phone. If you send it to the service, they will open the unibody phone and damage it. You will lose water resistance after that. It is much more expensive and you have to wait days/weeks till you get back your phone.

Furthermore, you can easily have both removable battery and water resistance at the same time. For example S5, S5 Active. And water resistance remains.

Could the LG be the second company to sport a 4K display on top of OLED? 3D touch or uses the earpiece as a second speaker together with a bottom firing one?
