Some images posted on the Nokia Germany website just lifted the curtain on one of the features to come in the next Symbian^3 update. What we are seeing is the free-form widgets that were initially...

Had a Nokia 5800 XPRESSmUSIC. used it for 5years without any problem
Had a Htc HD2 sold it...Freezes too much
Had a samsung galaxy s sold it..crap..low battery life
Had motorola...fell down and that was it!!
Now using the NOKIA N8 32Gb. This phone is the PHONE!!. no problem on this phone. I love it . This would be sold in 2015. You can buy any other phone but if you are the type who deals with quality stuff and excellent long lasting performance. Purchase a NOKIA phone.

AnonD-3575, 12 May 2011dude, first try to understand what are you writing about ... moreYou don't know anything you're talking about. Pixel density is not an indication of GPU performance, its an indication of screen quality, in which case Iphone 4 LCD is tops as it is one of a few phones with highest pixel density. GPU performance is affected directly by resolution of the device. N8 has a resolution of 640 x 360, Desire HD has 480 x 800. Meaning the GPU of the N8 renders 230,400 pixels vs the Desire HD's 384,00. That's a difference of 160,000 pixels, and yet the N8's GPU performance barely keeps up.

One of the updates of Anna brings "real home screen scrolling" this is in the logs of updates for Anna, which clearly tells you homescreen scrolling was incomplete or lagging before.

        http://www.engadget.com/2011/04/12/nokia-announces-symbian-anna-update-for-n8-e7-c7-and-c6-01/

Nokia shipped 28.3 million phones for Q4, 2010. Q1 which is the next quarter they shipped only 24.2 million, i don't know about you but this is less smartphone shipment. Where are you getting your information that they are shipping more and more? Don't forget the average price of Nokia's smart phone was about 130 euros, this also comes into play about their phone shipment. You fanboys like to argue that Android has cheap phones from Huawei and ZTE which increases their numbers through pricing alone, Nokia's phones are pretty cheap going by their average smart phone price.

It's not about being "chained" to a charger. I don't know about you but I don't use my smart phone while im sleeping, I charge it when I sleep, wake up and use it and it last the whole day. I have a G2x, which is dual core cpu, larger screen, higher resolution, and has full push data.

G2x has 1080p output, your point? Galaxy S has 720P output as well. 19" to 30" uses same resolution, your N8 doesn't use same resolution as everyone else, Nokia even uses a crappy marketing gimmick, calling "nHD" presumably Nokia HD? How is it HD when its even lower resolution than DVD quality? DVD quality isn't called HD.

AnonD-3575, 12 May 2011dude, first try to understand what are you writing about ... moreFirst of all it does lag, this was shown in videosnthat screen sailing is not fluid and has a delay and that when pressing the dots at the bottom itnis much quicker than dragging. Again this is stated in the Anna update as fixing lag on homescreen maybe you should read the logs. Obviously you do not know what pixel density is. You believe pixel density is correlation to gpu performance? Someone misinformed hulking, either that or you are highly uninformed to beginnwith. Pixel density is a value of how many pixels per inch the screen has
. Resolution is another factor and resolution is important in benchmarks. Obviously you don't know this. Where are you reading that Nokia is selling more and more smartphones? Have you read the quarterly reports? No right? Idc released a statement indicating iPhones market share is higher than Nokias market share, but fanbous are too oblivious to know this right? Just like how the article of iPhones 4 outselling n8 6:1 is unfair to you guys
            LOL you guys are hilarious.

[deleted post]man, i work in a mobile phone shop
and people return androids all the time

the problem in most cases is, that 99% of people dont know how to use a smartphone. they go hacking, rooting, modifying and they brick the phone...

i say, if you dont understand a smartphone, dont waste your money
you wont get magically smarter or more attractive

Anonymous, 11 May 2011LOL and what's everyday use to you? Even when just swiping ... moredude, first try to understand what are you writing about

first of all swiping is not laggy, it says so in the gsmarena review. so i will not try to convince you. read the review on this site

n8's resolution has similar pixel density as dhd, so i dont see you point. there are fullhd monitors sizes 19" to 30" and noone complains. plus n8 has 720p hdmi output

i cant complain about battery life because now. ive had lg gt540 with a 1500mah batt and 600mhz cpu. the battery life is better on n8. i dont like to be chained to a charger, its a MOBILE phone

and please explain how nokia sells more and more smartphones every year? their market share is dropping, but there are just a couple of s3 nokias out there, and a million android. its not really fair to compare, is it?

read a bit, get informed. dont act stupid just because you hate something

AnonD-3575, 11 May 2011in real life usage, i cant say that my friends htc dhd is f... moreLOL and what's everyday use to you? Even when just swiping from screens on Nokia it lags. Of course Nokia doesn't want to tell you this so they say its "part of the design", yet the Anna update even claims to improve on home screen swiping. Gaming you would think the N8 is up to part with it's Android competitors however that is not true. Especially since the N8 only outputs resolution at 640 x 360 and standard high end android resolution is 480 x 800. The difference in pixels has it's toll on the gpu. This isn't speculation, this is fact. If you're complaining about "battery life" then obviously smart phones are not for you. You don't buy an exotic sports car and complain about gas consumptions do you? You're right, processing power does not make a smart phone, UI, OS, and user experience makes a smart phone. Nokia obviously fails in this department as well which explains their rapid decline in the smart phone segments. Losing out to android globally and losing out to iOS in EUROPE, again these aren't speculations, they're substantiated evidence. Funny how you guys equate the Nokia branding to "high end", yet Nokia doesn't dominate high end segments, Apple does, they own the high end segments and Android devices are owning the middle and the lower end segments.

Now nokia is known by, laggy browser, outdated phones, outdated symbian, phones hard to use, bad touchscreen, low resolution screen etc.

about two or three years ago everythingh what you said was true. Now it's getting worst every day, every month, every year. All statistics proves that, nokia's smartphones are old and not interesting. There are new players now who rule the smartphone markets. Samsung, htc and Apple.

We'll see what happens when first nokia WP7 or 7,5 phone is coming. For sure no laggy browser anymore :)

Symbian^3 is one of the most successful OS ever created in a mobile phone. User friendly interface and Nokia did try its best to provide consumers a good over all product. Hardware, very decent enough to compete with other phones. When it comes to battery life, can last twice or trice than any other phone out there. Camera- well crafted. CPU-it's not much of a problem, when the update comes in, it'll be another comparison for some of you out there, but face the fact that other OS fans are threatened about the news cause they're reading this article. They just say "I know this, I know that..". All the specs ..blah..blah blah.. okay you're right..compare or search for "posts and articles" comparing "over all performance" of every spec of a symbian phone and another OS/mobile, see what you get-(take note that it's not just the CPU/UI/OS/CAMERA only). You want me to mention one--create a mobile phone that has an 8MP camera without a Wi-Fi capability. How's that? So enough of the detailed specs comparison.
