Apologies if I have missed it but what is the aspect ratio of the screen? That will make quite a difference if is 18:9 or 18.5:9. If if still 16:9 then getting the screen size to 5.8 inches at the same size as the 7 Plus is a worthy achievement. Granted Apple's silly trade mark bezels need to be history regardless. Then then leaves the question will there also be a smaller version?

I partially agreed with #BiyoBiyo JunJun as some manufacturer do copy the designs of iphone and why not, Iphone has always a beautiful and attractive mobile. But for this design i must agree with #Black order as samsung has already introduce this design with S8 & S8+.
But lately, IPHONE trying to keep up with top android manufacturers and following their footsteps e.g., same design like S8 of samsung, OLEDs, Bezel less screens, Big screens, removing home button & placing finger sensor at back (rumored), double cameras, etc...........
Iphone should step up or will lose like NOKIA (a giant of its time).

No innovation at all, just like the iPhone 1 really design wise, and it's 10 years later.
Mean while, the competition have or do offer:
Flexible devices (LG Flex from a while back, amazing phone, less likely to break in pocket)
Stereo audio recording with video (iPhone is mono)
Wireless charging (using standards, unlike the Apple Watch)
Lovely form factors (LG G3, Galaxy S8/S8+, HTC M series)
Stylus input for creatives (Galaxy Note series)
Powerful camera software (LG G series, Galaxy S6 onwards - iPhone UX is awful!)
Standards based NFC
3.5mm jack to avoid occupying the main port (all said, I only use Bluetooth for audio now)
Apple had the chance to do something ground breaking and useful, but instead, will just milk iFans for little change and little real productivity functionality. I am saddened to see so called poor students with iPhone 7s who only use them for social media, whilst professionals with a brain buy a OnePlus or Note.

Apple's blind fans are sooo happy!! But everybody know. Apple will never release a mobile like that until 2020. This iphone 8 will be a same iphone 7's design with littles improvements. It's the same joke every iphone's release.

Also no matter how old the technology is unless you know about this stuff you will always think the more poplar device started it.

Black Order, 25 Jul 2017The problem I have with people believing that Android phone... moreThey don't look the same at all (new iPhone and S8/S8+) and rounded screen corners are not invented by Samsung. Blackberry phones were using rounded screen corners since more than 5 years ago.
So no, neither Samsung nor Apple are original in this case. But the new iPhone is using more advanced technology than the S8/+ (no top and bottom bezels)

When you see it with function area on, looks great and not just among other phones, its big step in iphone design. Makes me wonder what will sony's next flagship look like. They seems to quite like their bezels.

It's one of the very reason I cant stand iPhone users (when talking about), Apple didin't start the design but because its so popular it gets the credit.
