Never did like the instant results. I find them distracting and unnecessary.

I always hated instant search results on both desktop PC and phone. Because if I start typing it does NOT mean that I want the results immediately. I start typing because I don't want to forget what I will search for next, but before search, I want to read the current results and when I want to search, I'll press enter or click.
The other reason why instant results are bad is that it automatically loads the page at every keypress which is a waste of time/bandwidth/data plan/battery life (on phones and laptops)/processing power.
Those developers at Google don't have common sense.
I had to block JavaScript on Google to block instant results.

With the combination of the slow network speed and my fast typing speed, I almost never experienced Google's instant search. As a result, I'm totally indifferent to its removal.

I was ready to snark it up in relation to the new found absence of Google associated predictive text. However, it seems there's no need/reason to do so: you guys are happy with see it be put out to pasture, and so am I, plain and simple ;-) .

I agree with that, Google search is overhauled, but it's a big effect on updates that are not only desktop versions but also mobile versions.

It's mainly because they're tired of censoring. They can't block certain results before they go viral.

Thank God. I hated that feature, even on my pc. It's really annoying when it loads the results for the wrong suggestion and then takes longer to load the right one.

I’m fin with this, as I generally have a pretty good idea of what I’m looking for, anyway. I also agree with them in regards to the space constraints of mobile.
