Vegetaholic, 04 Aug 2017S3 is very old phone, no one uses S3 anymore, so of course ... moreBut in previous comments people pretend they still use s2&3 without burn-ins.
What about last generations of AMOLED, as I've seen on s7. Yes, colors are better, but stil dirty bluish tint. And after 8 (or about this) months colors became like under some kind of fog. Not that vivid as before. Of course, 99% of users will not notice that, but SAMOLED technology still far from perfect. Good, but not excellent as marketing says. IPS still not worse in summary.

I admit myself still holding S4 as souvenir, has been using it for 2 years as my main phone since it came out, it is 4 years old now and screen is in perfect quality, no burn ins or any other described problems you told, Samsung didint lie telling that pentile matrix is good for longevity of screen life. Maybe just S4 Panel is better in quality too comparing with s3, knowing that amoled technology back when was just few years old, so they managed to improve quality everywhere significantly from last model

And if you have sgs3 and don't see any color changes - you are blind. OLED is ORGANIC technology. It will degrade even you don't use screen at all.
Ah, funny fact - most of summy users who says nothing changes - shows screenshod as prove. So I'm sorry for not beleaving in miracles, but people mostly don't know what they are talking about.
SGS3 screen has weird colors tint after year of usage and burn-ins on status bar. So don't you say nothing changed in years of everyday usage - it's just impossible.

TheHater, 02 Aug 2017Can't a hater also not like something? Lol. Anyways, 1.... moreYes agreed

sr777, 03 Aug 2017Oppo is ahead of Xiaomi?yeah because of huge investment in marketing and oppo is available in offline market. wherease xiaomi sells most of their phone through online channel. and this is global market. 5th place is still best considering xiaomi is not widely available everywhere (every country)

samsung only topple the list at flagship segment like... S / note series
                    ...
but for middlerange they still far to compete with Xiaomi/huawei/Lenovo/oppo/vivo

Samsung cant sell their middlerange for less than $200

The % market for middlerange smartphone bigger than high end segment.

Thats why they failed so hard when come to pricetag

Once I already watched Samsung's advertisement (back in the S4 or S2 era I think) and all they said is how better the AMOLED is to IPS LCD, like contrast ratio, power efficiency, color reproduction, etc. which is definitely not true during that time and they never talked about how AMOLEDs die out way faster than an IPS LCD pixel would, or how bad it burns the screen when left displaying the same thing for a long period of time.
