After what happened to the note7, and the note 8 only only get a 3500mah battery and slightly bigger than the s8+. And the same cup. And they want it for $1000+. My answer is " hell no Sammy, go F yourself"

DNeighbor, 04 Aug 2017I did find some 2nd hand good condition, but I think I pref... moreActually no. I have the N910c and had the n910v twice.

The Exynos has been faster in cpu
processing in pretty much every generation except slightly in the S1. Formally known as hummingbird for that generation.
And the gpu was stronger on exynos in the s1, s2, Note 2, and with the note 4 and s6 the graphics were a little behind but throttled less.
And it's well known how much overall faster and more power efficient the S6 Exynos was compared to the s810 issues.
And then now again stronger in gpu as well in the S8.

And in most generations except the S2 audio is better in the Exynos. And it's almost always more power efficient too.

Anonymous, 04 Aug 2017Depending on your country and carrier you can get a used on... moreYeah, counter-intuitive to be carrying around and plugging in half the time you are using the thin phone. My experience with the Note7 has me needing to charge before going home. It means I expending the battery cycle count by TWICE.

For those not in the know, the 300 or less charge cycle counts is the usual effective charge hold for a battery. Beyond that, the battery is about 60% capacity from the original. The percentage count/indicator will only indicate the CURRENT capacity, i.e. NOT the original (say) 3500 mAh when you first bought the phone but the DEGRADED level of the battery (months later), i.e. the battery will actually only hold some (say) 2800 mAh - which is what "100%" is now, NOT the full 3500 mAh capacity.

The MAJORITY of consumers are not knowledgeable or do not care for this fact. The over charge or over discharge, rapid charge, wireless charge - just accelerates the eventual degradation of the battery power issues.

That's just I just opted to put in a 10,000 mAh extended battery - less number of times of charging, no need to fast charge during the day, and no under charging. Based on all the batteries I have used, 18 months is the average before I start seeing apparent performance. Performance is only top during the first month, but after that, expect a 10-20% decrease battery capacity.

So sealed battery just puts the buyer at a disadvantage in the long run. Samsung knows this.

Anonymous, 04 Aug 2017Depending on your country and carrier you can get a used on... moreI did find some 2nd hand good condition, but I think I prefer the brand new one for 50% more expensive at $300. Note 4 is 30%+ more efficient battery life than my Note 3. The SD version is what I know to be better than the Exynos version. Exynos processor only became better on the S7, very poor on the S6. Just means I can get accumulated 20 hours SOT compared to the Note 3 with a 10,000. And I'm not losing the IR remote controller.

sa11oum, 04 Aug 2017Makes sense to me. S7e was 3600 and Note7 was 3500, so the ... moreEasy solution to that is to make the phone a little thicker and give at least 4000mah. If Samsung expect customers to pay £800 etc for it, then they are not going to expect to carry a power pack around with them for the end of the day charge. I've seen this common trend and almost obsession from manufacturers in making their phones thin. There are so many compromises in doing that and it doesn't make the phone easier to hold.

For GSM I definitely recommend the Exynos version. N910c can be gotten for like $200-250. Though if you can get that or another exynos one new for $300 I understand.
Yes it runs overall faster and has a better speaker and headphone sound.
If you're in the US I would still recommend exynos if possible. Otherwise the Verizon one. It would run Verizon, att, or t-mobile.
And can be obtained $80-150 depending on the deal and condition. Even the edge version. And yes the original note edge was far different from the edge displays we have now

You might look "cool" with an iPhone but I'd rather take an S8 or the next S9 than a phone that's "dumb proof" and has the same look and feel that you can't change.

Anonymous, 04 Aug 2017How about the motherboard problems plaguing the Note 4? Are... moreI just found a retailer who sells brand new Note 4(s). $300 seems to be a good deal - I'm after the removable battery option so I can use a Zerolemon 10,000 mAh. I'm reserved to get the best Galaxy Note Samsung HAD done before getting a Note8.

It's the first time I've heard main board problems. Of course things have a life span - my Note 3 is still doing well enough, until its eventual demise. Probably 2 more years. The only thing that annoys me is its slow camera focus, but takes good pictures.

While I'll likely get a Note8 (maybe not entirely, since I can use that budget for the latest Surface Pro), I want it for the better camera and better S Pen. Not excited for the glass back, nor the even smaller sealed battery. I'm pressed to be carrying a power bank again, until Zerolemon comes out with an external battery case.

AnonD-286078, 03 Aug 2017A phone that big and just 3300mah battery? Can't be true. E... moreMakes sense to me. S7e was 3600 and Note7 was 3500, so the Note8 may very well have a smaller battery than the S8+, mainly due to the S Pen slot taking up the extra space. Plus Samsung need to be careful about the battery capacity to avoid another fiasco.

Their updates are slow, painful and occasionally awful. Their phones lag and this has never changed. Even the S8 lags. Its a disgrace in 2017. No phone can be considered a flagship when it lags.

Yeah, Samsungs normally have good battery life but having bought and used a note 5 in the UK, it was poor for me. Never got close to the on screen time of 6 or even 5.5 hours. I might get 4.5 hours if I'm lucky.

The sad thing is that they always score well on GSMarena tests. Then again, I've never been able to replicate GSMarena battery life usage in the real world.

Or insist that it lasts the whole day with heavy usage. When in fact their so called heavy use is equal to the usage of a feature phone user.
