Some rumors had this as with a size and design similar to 6/6s/7.
If it's going to be similar size with 4.2" display, that's good for those who want smaller sizes and means it's not just the cheap iphone.

18 months old, 05 Aug 2017In March 1918, the A10 chipset will be 18 months old. Nice ... moreThe iPhone SE is becoming the Mac Mini of the iPhone lineup. Infrequent updates but enough fans for Apple to keep refreshing it every couple years.
In 2018 the A10 will still be faster than most Android phones (except perhaps some 2017/2018 flagships). Additionally, there are basically no good Android phones with a 4" screen. Not sure how buying a cheap Android phone is the answer.

In March 1918, the A10 chipset will be 18 months old. Nice try Apple for trying to flog your old stuff to an often unsuspecting audience...it's new and it's from Apple...Wow it must be good kind of audience.
Well, in March 1918 the iPhone 7 will also be 18 months old and with the same A10 chipset BUT with a bigger 4.7" screen. These will no doubt be available for a reduced price, so the decision which one to buy will be an easy one.
Actually the decision will be even easier. BUY a much cheaper Android phone!

Please improve front camera, 3D touch and water resistant. Think more. And screen size also 4.5 inches. Like Sony Xperia compact.

iPhone SE is more valuable than iPhone 6/6s I think. this phone saves apple sales in 2016 because 6/6s isn't that good with the price offered. what about the SE2? well, we'll see.

In technology, for example in rocket science the success rate of ISRO is better than NASA or ESA. It would be cost effective but necessarily will not compromise in quality and certainly Apple is wise & would not want that. The Nokia phones from India were of very high quality compared with counterparts from Hungary, Mexico & China. The iPhones will be made from outsourced components using same design, same robots and will go through same quality control. You can close your eyes and go for it.
