AnonD-2486, 21 May 2011Ya ace is crappy and sgs II will soon also become crappy on... morei dont agree abt gs2 being crappy.......its really gud, check out youtube.......screen = superb, os = great, speed = very good, browser = awesome(thats the only thing where nokia are very behind), camera = good, ui(touch wiz 4) = ok(very iphonish), built = ok (plasticky, thats where i cant compromise)........overall a good piece to buy (but unaffordable for me,im a mid-range smartphone buyer, at this price id better buy the best available laptop ;) )
abt upcoming nokia WPs, we canT say anything so u cant compare it to s2..... by that time s3 wil be released and iphn 6 would be on the way, so nokia wp's competition would be with these phones, not s2

even i dont judge phones on daily interest or any kinda stuff like that...i was just making that guy understand who was bragging about gs2 and ace being top on daily interest....i judge a phone on (1)the features i require + (2)the build quality, nothing else......(i never buy a phn which is on first page, i just use the GSMARENA PHONE FINDER. All the desired features and built quality i most of the times get with nokia at affordable price).......and i never forced anyone to buy just nokia and even i didnt say other brands are not worth buying......im just sayin other brands are not as good as nokia (for me, better to say).
u say user rating can be used to judge a phone, but what would u say abt fanboys rating the phone 10.10.10. and haters rating it 1.1.1. , is that fair?

One thing which i didn't like about WM7 is the main menu it is ugly i just wish if nokia gives traditional 3 X 4 menu or 4 X 4 menu

Nokia is just trash, SE w810 can stand up against n96 in UI. The 5800 is the worst touch screen phone i have ever seen, thats if it is worthy of being called touch screen, over 200 models of nokia phones and nothing to show for it, nokia is not responsive to the needs of their users, neither are they creative

let me just respond to people who think that nokia should put a bigger cpu in their phones because they cost as much as a high end android
tell me, do you think the n8 camera is free, or cost as much as a galaxy 5mp camera?
is aluminium casing less expensive than plastic?
how about better speakers, microphones? usb on-the-go, hdmi
that all costs money.
you have a smaller cpu but a better camera and so on...
its just a matter of what do you need more. i can do without a dual core, but a good camera and good signal reception is a must for e.g.
not to mention the fact that reviews dont mention the cpu and ram as a disadvantage and i believe they know more than people posting comments here

A lot of posts here are totally misguided. Nokia phones are good, but they are not good based on there real qualities. I have argued this severally. Alright, startin with s40(eg x3-02) nokia has FAILED to show expertise in their os, jus take a look at old sony eric. Or new samsung corby. Okay, take a look at symbian os, d v2,v3 and v5 had several issues. Number one, usin d n72 as an example, that phone lacks an invitin touch, the ui is totally old and just plain, no special effects, d browser is hell, d music player nothin to write home about, d document editor is tiny and looks like a calculator. For those who say that symbian is a fast os, they got it all wrong, symbian is SLOW and LAGGY no matter d phone (includin the c6) their touch phone are not at all touch optimised or oriented, in short nokia seems to have gotten every thing wrong!. D reason y nokia has many fans are: they are quite cheap, they are readily available in almost any store, their original accessories are available and they have alot of varieties. There long presence in the phone market is what made their apps numerous, but unfortunately that era is slowly passin away. In won't if nokia takes immediate action. Even uiq of sony eric. Was better but for their financial problems. I will stop here. Sony ericsson, samsung, blackberry, apple, htc 0‹2nly need time for developers, after which nokia will become a thing of the past.

Symbian & Meego needs less resourses and less capable phones, that's why Nokia didn't mae 1 GHz phones, the OS don't need that power.
With WMP all is different. They need to make more powerful gadgtes to keep MS OS needs.
Even with the specs of Samsung-Motorola-Sony the have lags

That's a simple test N8 vs Atrix..However is just the OS, the hardware is right, but some software are too heavy to get in working order..Damn! I love the Atrix, but I will wait for the WMP gadgets from Nokia...or maybe an N8/C7/X7 :D

They don't know anything about Symbian and the light resources it uses.

Well im anxious to see what nokia will come up with, eventhough they are behind hardware wise this days, theyre still a great company. Windows OS is a great OS if you take out the restrictions. Also people talking about symbian being a dead system, well it might not be the best but its really good if you compare the 5800 against a Backflip which has a faster processor, the 5800 is a lot faster. Im not a Nokia fan but ive had the N95, 5800, and now i have a SGS so i know what im talking about, and ive also used the N8, Backflip, my girlfriend has a Defy, my mom a Spice, and its true when they say that Symbian can run in pair with android with half of the resources. Im a proud Galaxy S owner but i just hate when people vouch Nokia and Symbian without knowing.

That makes no sense whatsoever. The fact you got phones who gets more attention than others can be attributed to dozens of factors who are in no way related with the quality and appreciation the users of the product get of it..
For example, has it ever occured to you that since these phones are on that list on the main page they get more exposure therefore they get more clic than others since people are curious to see what the phones on that list are? Remove them from that list on the main page and see their interest rate going down... Or there could be that crappy phone everybody is curious to see, just to laugh at, that get an incredible interest rate, would that means it's actually a good phone?
Point is : interest rating is merely just hype and can be in no way an indicator of the quality, performance or even real popularity of a brand or phone.
The only "significative" data regarding the overall quality, performance, users satisfaction, even thought it is bound to be biased as well, is the users rating of a product.

AnonD-9023, 21 May 2011whatever it is i got to tell that this is good news because... moreU forgot to mention that some are useless apps such as mp3 downloaders or youtube downloaders etc.. you can download them via browser or in computer and mostly in android you will get so many apps for just one cause for ex if u want to use ur wifi as hotspot you will get so many apps but in symbian you will only get one app and another ex if u want a mp3 or video downloader i'll bet that you will get atleast more than 10 apps!!!! you will also get apps such as new sms for sharing, love quotes, etc which are useless. Thats the reason why android has crossed the numbers in apps than symbian or other OS. I am telling this honestly as my sis has galaxy 3 and i know how android market is!!!

whatever it is i got to tell that this is good news because if touch screen works good (only way touch screen works good = no laggy interface) half of problem is solved.
and apps develop automatically.
if u look at android and apple's appstore
50% apps = website apps that means twitter has one app facebook has one app etc etc.
no need to count them as applications since u can access facebook or twitter via browser.
remaining 30% = themes applications in android and books-applications in appstore
finally 20% = 19% games and remaining 1% are copiycats of other games
even if u have like 400000 apps only useful apps are like 30% and in that 30% we use only 0.05%
