So it seems there will be Redmi,
Note 5A - sd425 720p cheapest unit to follow the success of Redmi 4a.
Note 5B - Note 4 rebranded.
Note 5 - the sd630 dual cam
Note 5 prime - sd660 dual cam and more.

zodiacfml, 14 Aug 2017best phones for the money. however, i hope they could rele... morewhile I hope the same, I don't think they will do it (at least for now). my guess is that these kind of features would be reserved for mi line up which is in a higher tier compared to redmi line.

Dear Mr. Peter (the author), it seems you didn't complete the article... Plz have a look at the last line...
Anyhow, 5A doesn't sound too exciting, but if I'm to guess, it will probably replace the already dirt cheap Redmi 4a, so in that price bracket, not a bad deal I guess.
Also its probable that the SD 625 model will be called Redmi 5 only, going by present trends...

Something is clearly off.
There were official leaks that the 5A would have the SD 625... And now why 425? Also... On HD at 5.5 inches at 150 dollars? That is really off.

I'm sad for Xiaomi. Recent releases are sacrificing battery capacity to make the newer phones thinner. The Mi 5x, Redmi Note 5/5A and possibly many other future Xiaomi phone releases could follow the trend of having less than 4100mAh batteries. What's next Xiaomi, 16:9 aspect ratio screen? No more 3.5mm headphone jack? No more FM radio and IR blaster? If that's the direction Xiaomi is heading, it's going down the drain. I might as well have a Samsung if every phone from any brand will follow Samsung.
