monsterduc1000, 14 Aug 2017I DO I DO :) Happy G5 owner!G5 is my favorite phone of all-time. It isn't 100% perfect with ghosting and battery is a little weaker but it is close to it. Pixel could be 1A and is technically my daily driver but I use it mainly for data hotspot and battery will degrade fast soon my most recent to work only on Verizon. My Note 3 can work too but too old. I can buy a bunch of G5 batteries and it can last for life! I prefer typing on my G5 the most too.

LG haters and Pixel haters who never owned either all make me laugh. I use iPhone and Samsung every day too and I still prefer either LG and Google. Hardware-wise, G5 or V20. The last two greats with removable battery and IR blaster. Software-wise, Pixel. But G5 is close to it in fluidity. V20 is a notch below Pixel, G5, and SE in fluidity.

People can go hate and hate LG. I have owned multiple Apple and Samsung phones but I still prefer LG over both. Apple too restrictive and Samsung too laggy. Just a shame LG went with sealed batteries and removed IR blaster. I also despise glass rears. It makes my other phones dirtier. If I sell the S7e and lose Samsung Pay, my replacement for it will be a Sony. I want PS4 Remote Play, smoother skin, and matte rears.

My Vitamin A, B, and C for phone brands are Google, LG, and Sony. Maybe throw in Nokia (HMD) if my V20 gets laggy. The best Androids should remain smooth years after you purchase it. Nokia has it close to stock Android as they come.

I never really use the AoD on the V20 just like I found the edge display on Samsung a gimmick. My V20 seems to be slowing down three months after I got it. I would clear app cache and still the same. Pure Android for now on.

The only knock is my Pixel will overheat every single day and be only good for a year since it is the only one that will work on Verizon. I don't want to use two lines anymore. Wasting an extra $100. My G5/V20 and iPhone SE/S7 edge can back each other up as browsers and GPS to last longer. My Pixel battery should be degraded quickly within a year.

Pure Android on Verizon is the only way I want to go. LG's skin can feel laggy and heavy over time. I just find it odd that the G5 is still smooth after updated to Nougat but the V20 isn't. Same UX but the G5's is as fluid as the Pixel. It was almost like they were made by different teams but the G5 crew was better with software optimization.

I really don't mind selling my S7 edge but I really do like another phone to back up ny iPhone SE for GPS and like Samsung Pay. I rotate between 3 phones every single day. One as the phone/hotspot, one as a browser when I access free Wi-Fi or media player which tend to be my LGs, and one for GPS (SE or S7e).

Doing DoorDash or Postmates with plenty of downtime, you need a minimum of three phones with you to save each other's battery life. One phone with me all day using data and location on won't last. My next phones will always be Pixels for now on. And even then, I would generally use it as a data hotspot. Overheats like crazy.

Aaaand, there UI still looks like a Saturday morning cartoon gone bad.

Good luck Lg, we need competition in the Android space for the benefit of consumers.

Lol the comments are so positive now but then LG will announce it and reveal the launch price and the comments will turn into "LG is drunk" and "RIP LG".

                  Good job to LG.

AnonD-426158, 14 Aug 2017Dont confuse over LG P-oled and samsung amoled. Both are OLED technologies with no sufficient variation to matter power-consumption-wise. The optimizations come from the hardware that drives the display: intelligent refresh rates, intelligent brightness, separation of the screen in multiple sections which can independently be shut down, etc.

But, does it really matter if it is still working properly? I've had some other phones update and they were glitchy afterward.
