Whenever i tried to update my SGS through kies for gingerbread a message comes that 'firmware update has stopped working'. I have tried several things, such as change my pc from vista to windows7, factory reset of phone, removing of sim card but nothing helped. I use 3g data card for net connection. whether it is the problem? Please help!

Hm, can someone explain why the update hasn't rolled at the same time, for the whole Europe ? I mean, it's pretty stupid for me, it's the same Kies all over the place.

I installed gingerbread on my galaxy s in 1st week of June in India. The performance improvement is drastic and there are virtually no lags compared to Froyo earlier. The battery life also seems to have increased and I can easily pull through a day of heavy use.

I am planning to upgrade my galaxy s OS(froyo) to gingerbread.
I have read some complains for the upgrade that the battery drains like anything. Is it true?
Please tell me about the performance and battery, after the upgrade.
                          Thanks in advance.
