For an average user, small hiccups in the phone performance is not an issue. I have used Samsung, LG, Huawei, Lenovo, Apple and Sony flagship phones. Users which tend to keep the phone for at least 2 to 3 years requires a phone which is durable and does not degrade with passage of time. The phones which I am still keeping today are:

      1. Apple 6s
      2. Samsung Note 3 (battery replaced after 3 years and S-Pen is now dead)
      3. Sony Xperia Z5 Dual Premium

All these phones tends to perform very well even today. Samsung Note 3 is still running on Lollipop. Its outdated in terms of Software but still performs very fast. No issues.

Apple is seamlessly smooth and doesnt degrade in terms of performance.

Sony Xperia Z5 dual premium is my daily driver. Using one local SIM and one SIM with roaming. This phone was launched in 2015 with Lollipop as default OS and as of today it has been updated to Nougat 7.1.1 with 1 June 2017 security patch. I am amazed to see the level of support Sony gives to its flagship phones. The headphone jack is not working and the phone's performance degrades when the battery is less than 10%, unlike apple which doesnt degrade even with 1% battery.

In a long run, best phones are those, which maintains the quality, purpose, speed and reliability. I consider Apple and Sony flagship phones to tick all boxes. In the department of design, in long term use, you tend to adjust. S8 has great design but its very fragile. I have dropped my Sony phones number of times...it has some slight scratches at the corners but still works like a horse and the screen doesnt have a single scratch. The built quality of Sony is amazing. At the end quality counts not the quantity.

Whatever. Why are some people so worked up about some awards? Your favourite brand/model did not win, so? Congratulate the winning brands and move on. Stop wasting time debating.

Marorun, 15 Aug 2017After taking time to compare them in real life scenario sad... moreBoth LG and Samsung used sony's sensor, but the p10 was awarded because of the leica brand, which is a german brand. Lets not forget that the EISA stands for European Imaging and Sound Awards. Biased awards if you ask me.

Anonymous, 15 Aug 2017Sony XZp was best in MWC Today, in this thing awards GS8 ... moreYes

I feel like they hold themselves back but they are above most. Its availability too.

And i agree. Their eis work finally came through close to a point that it is almost what the fanboys claimed it was but wasn't for years. But ois would still help a lot in still photos and low light. If they would just combine both properly

AnonD-145316, 15 Aug 2017Stop the hate! Huawei p10 has the best camera, any reviewer... moreAfter taking time to compare them in real life scenario sadly the P10 camera is not that good.

LG G5 , LG G6 , Samsung S8 and pixel all beaten it in every aspect beside one thing.
The portrait mode on the P10 is very good much better than iphone 7 plus.

Sorry but S8 is way too fragile.

IF they had a flat version its could be named best device as beside thats its really good ( thats comming from someone who dont like Samsung btw.. )

Best phone my a$$. I have it and first there is a strange scratch on the screen even though it has been pampered in a pouch and second in 80% of attempts the camera doesn't focus. One has you shake it so it recovers. And mine is far from the only case - comments on this are abundant on the web.

                                    Isn't here any OnePlus fanguy
                                    Whose having OnePlus 5
And feels that he's holding one of the best smartphone right now.
                                    Even better than s8
Ignore those edges and infinity display because it broke so eaisly
Had s7 edge in past. Personal experience if broking it

Anonymous, 15 Aug 2017What do you want? Stability and speed or more features and ... moreI think the S8 is fairly stable as far as I'm seeing on my father's phone (I seem to use it more than he does). I mentioned earlier that it has microstutters from time to time that are barely noticeable when using the stock launcher. It didn't get laggy at all despite heavy usage. It's still reliable just like any other flagship, maybe not faster than some specific phones in launching apps but it's catching up. Trust me, Samsung's improved many things since the earlier catastrophic TouchWiz versions in 2011.
