Thats why they love them so much and always have a certain...postive note to say about them.

Making the smartphone looks more beautiful is the only thing that a 'Edge' gimmick can give... + that 'Edge Screen' is so annoying while watching videos or playing games. But the 'Squeez' gimmick by HTC is a lot worst.

              Do people hate Sony on purpose?
              Just look at it. Everytime that GSM published an article about Sony and few hours later the comment section becomes noisy?
              But if it's Huawei, Asus or LG? The Comment section doesn't hit more than 100 etc. T.T

It's extremely rare for a phone to fall perfectly flat on the surface without the bezels hitting the floor even a little. It always falls slightely inclined and 99 of 100 times bezels bear the brunt of the force.

                    I use sony but this is a disappointment someone has to do their homework the person approving the design needs to be replaced.

                      Sony had lots going in in the bezel, any electronics designer will appreciate how the bezel is filled with lots of componet(cough, cough iphone cough cough) rather than filling it with part of the motherboard,
                      What i mean is under the bezel is the 1/2.3 triple layer sensor, 1/3.06 AF front cam, stereo speaker

                      Heck, even lg had fo use smaller sensor for the g6 and there's rumor that v30 will even had smaller sensor

The largest force goes through the bit that lands first, wherever that may be.

                            i sometimes drop my phone. in most cases, the screen and the back hits floor first. not the bezel.

That force turns into stress and undergoes nearly triangular distribution and starts to flow towards the screen. By the time it reaches the screen, it's already distributed to a large area and is less likely to damage the screen. So the bezels do protect the screen in most cases. But Sony's are huge and need to be trimmed down to the level of lg g6. So your logic is completely garbage and so was your analogy. S8 has no side bezels so the force directly shatters the screen. So both Samsung and Sony have bad bezels on practicality front.

                                        Not any different than anything else
                                        These sony fans would do anything to defend sony and their decisions

                                        Regardless if the design is good and the cameras are outstanding, their xzs was launched this year yet they choose to launch another phone just with an updated processor and same design like all of the X series

                                        Someone mentioned that it is selling in his country, wherever I go I never see anyone ask for a sony or look at a Sony phone
