Okay, let's say everyone saying Notch and punchole are beautiful and what about you? How are you thinking!? Is it blocking/hassle your view? It is really upgrade your view experience? Or it is just marketing hype and a trend that will be gone soon.

New battery tech that have smaller battery capacity and extra tiny than usual and more safety but with prolonged endurance.

The multi cameras has more features to use but a single camera isn't that bad too but those marketing tend to promote it, example the Bokeh, when it is a single camera we don't think Bokeh is needed but when those phone maker start using it they are try to promote it as a selling point and the Dxomark follow it and adopt the new protocol in the scoring. The 10x zoom in also not everyone will use in daily, but the marketing tend to promote as a selling point too, even you wouldn't use this feature daily the Dxomark still give the selling "point" for it. You don't know Sony have saying the multi cameras will gain up on 2018-2019, that's means they have developed multi-camera just they don't rush to release before other companies (Just like Korea launch the 5G rushing before China, it doesn't means China doesn't have 5G, same theory).
The curved screen, Sony adopt 2.5D it is fine and better than those big curved screen. The other brand almost adopt the big curved screen (waterfall or Samsung Edge) which reflects the light on the edge of the screen. Sony don't follow the notch or punchole trend, but almost every Samsung and China phone maker follow (copy each other). But those marketing tend to promote the notch and punchole as a selling point too, they call it bezel-less (more compact phone size, more view areas), but you to compromise with the notch/punchole blocking in front of your beautiful screen. lmao...
Sony adopt sealed battery earlier than other phone maker, that's means other phone maker follow Sony. Sony adopt Waterproof design, that's means other follow Sony. Sony adopt 4K display on smartphone, that's mean they are following Sony....
On the other hand, Sony don't use elevator front camera don't make foldable phone periodly because they don't want to do it, not they can't do it. IMO I think the monolithic design is still better and totally fine periodly because the material can't achieve more advanced and it still a well-balanced design.

FYI, Sony design and color of use is very gorgeous and it sturdier than any homeless display smartphone.

The Z5 compact cost more than the iPhone because it was a much better phone. Unlike the iPhones, the Sony compacts have the same internals as the bigger versions. I can't persuade my wife to replace her ancient Z1 compact because it still does the job perfectly well, battery life is still fine, and it looks new.
