And you are in your own world and only you can enjoy it, very bad. VR won't success. Maybe you read news today where Vive price dropped 200dollars, well its still way way too expensive. And not only the VR glasses but you also need very expensive gear to handle it.
And i bet AR going to have lot of WOW factory when devs unleash the potential of it

AR is nothing but the side kick to real future, which is VR. AR doesn't not have any WOW factor, unlike VR which brings you to new worlds and so on

Imagine apple using AR in gps navigation. Like using your phone's camera to navigate. Or using an application that changes the colour of a car so that you can walk around it and see which colour you like.

AR have huge potential in many ways and it that augmented reality you can input whatever you think about, job and head depends AR will make gimmic or innovation that helps and entertains. I See AR evoling in to hologrames like in Iron man but need big AR evolve in screen first because not much content are made.

The truth is, Apple is great to make stuff work. You said Android have had this long time, yet does anyone care? Does even hardly anyone know? Have they marketed it? Does developers do great stuff with it? No, no and no.
When Apple does something they do it right and big. Always these Android user whine how Android had this and this before like it matters, who cares? :D
Apple made this available propably for around 300 million iOS devices, the userbase is very big so devs are loving this and making all kind of stuff with this because they know there's lot of people who can enjoy it.
