Samsung Galaxy A 2018 phones could have Infinity Displays

28 August 2017
The A phones usually copy Galaxy S features from the previous year so the timing works out.

Apolodor, 30 Aug 2017Let's hope A 2018 won't have an edge screen. Bezzeless 18.5... moreYes, the edge sucks, but that horrible 18.5:9 sucks even far more.

The A 2016 series followed the S6 and note 5 Design.
And the A 2017 Series followed The S7 Design
So it would be shame if the A 2018 line up didn't have infinity display.. Specially that LG has moved the Bezzless tech screens to the mid range category..

And this means Sony and HTC will have tuff times if they didn't start following this trend any time soon "My opinion"

The A series have slow and laggy processors/socs which are also in low budget phones

Anonymous, 29 Aug 2017Welcome to the era of screen replacements once a month :DI've used the Aquos 305SH and 402SH, the original bezelless smartphone by Sharp since 2014 to date, yes till today in 2017... I'm stuck on Android 4.4 but that's not a concern considering they still serve me an smartphone... I don't do games on my phones so upgrading is not a priority for me at the moment...

Never had a case on, nor a screen protector on, and the phones have had equal shares of kissing the floor when my vertigo strikes or when the earth shakes... They only suffer some scratches which is normal to every phone (irregardless of whatever screen they had despite being scratch proof/resistant will suffer (minor) scratches after years of usage NOT storage)... So no, not all screen cracks easily, unless it's those common brand phones that cracks or shatters conveniently...

If the manufactures want to make new standard aspect ratio, it will be because of planned obsolescence. In fact 4:3 is the best aspect ratio, because it is the closest to the human eye, so even 16:9 was unnecessary.

Luxor, 28 Aug 2017Galaxy A series for people who couldnt afford S series but ... moreGod no, i mean NO
Leave j series alone, we are already more than enough happy with our none-glass backs, flat screen, top and bottom bezels and front facing fingerprint scanner.

I hope Samsung keep those "features" for note/S/A series and leave j series simple.

I can't wait. I will put 100 euros every month for screen replacement. And purchase a 50 dollars samsung case. This is the next generation. Love it.

What a BS. http://www.huawei.... moreThey reach the low phone price by adding tons of bloatware to your phone. one bloatware get you 10-20 bucks off the phone price, and some extreme cases i heard have 40 bloatware on the phone.

If it has a 1920x1080px display it doesn't mean it can't have infinity display. The phone could just be a bit shorter lengthwise with the 16:9 aspect ratio instead of 18:9.

That would mean Samsung is telling me to buy stuff from somebody else. I'm not putting up with a crappy curved display no matter how wet the tech media gets over it.

In a way I guess it makes sense... mid-range shouldn't have better displays than the flagship.

when Sharp announced a comeback to relive back their bezeless and edgeless (Aquos) range, everyone else goes bezerk... make it worst, other common brands doesn't know the definition of bezeless... at least Samsung got it right to call their's Inifinity...
