Nokia starts iDoalotmore campaign in India, seriously?

27 May, 2011
Nokia started a new campaign to promote its latest Symbian gadgets in India called iDoalotmore. It starts just a day after Apple launched the iPhone 4 there and is available on Nokia's official pages and billboards...

Vamsi, 12 Jun 2011I am a nokia fan but I find this campaign ridiculous. Reall... moreit's probably a dull period for Nokia.. but i have a feeling that it's the silence before the storm..
Nokia is just bidding it's time till it releases the windows phone series which happens to be a lot better than the symbian.. comes up with a new market strategy as well..
so for new phones you should just wait a little i can say.. :)

I am a nokia fan but I find this campaign ridiculous. Really, a nokia smart phone can do a lot more than the iPhone4, but I am sure this is not the way to woo customers....guys(Nokia)....bring out better service and support(not to mention newer models). The old nokia is needed right now to survive the competition.

        RDF ON!
Yeah! Any Nokia device can do alot more then the iCrap 4! ;P
        -------------
I know that Symbian isn't a bad OS (like user "asd" pointed out), but still... iPhone can do most of the things "asd" pointed out and if you jailbreak an iPhone you can get all that and of course a lot more! ;)
Question is if you're willing to jailbreak your iPhone and if you even really need all of the functions an iPhone/Nokia has to offer.
And they said only Apple fanboys had RDFs :D

              Good move!
They have a rocking market share in the fastest growing cell phone market in the world, why would they give it up easily? After all, they are not BSNL or Air India to be 'influenced/coerced'.
They should do whatever possible to retain market share, and it is matter of time before they come out with Windows 7/8 handsets...and I for one am expecting a lot from the Nokia-Microsoft combination.

No doubt India a big market for the Nokia or can say for any mobile company, to be frank 80% user doesnt aware what a mobile operating system is, in remaning 20% lots of people know there is something like Android, Symbian or Windows but how does it actually effect the mobile unit they are purchasing. Here in India most important role in sell of a mobile unit is either played by mobile Vandor or the people who suggest that, what they are using is very good. I think this campaign can work in India but availing mobile in cheap could be a key to success.

Nokia might have started iDoaLotmore campaign but the consumer all over India is feeling "iDontLikeNokiaAnyMore". Why??? Reason is very clear they are still not able to understand the customer needs wrt money and likings.

I am paying my hard earned money and if with same price I can get something that is full of feature and future proof then why should I purchase a old Horse out of a pack?

Wake up Nokia, you are still able to sale your phones in INDIA because customer here have a belief/ faithful on the brand. Once the faith is lost then you will loose the last held ground.

It's a bit of a low blow from Nokia, but skirting that line is part of all great marketing. Apple does this in the most blatant manner possible - everything they announce is "revolutionary" or "magical" - but nobody bats an eye because that's what Apple always does. Somebody else gives it a try? Suddenly the sky is falling!

Good on Nokia for demonstrating some of the superior features. Fact is, I can *still* do some things on my N97 Mini that iP4 can't do (or rather, Apple won't let it).
