This phone really provides the best of both worlds! Is it a phone? Is it a pad? It looks a bit like a Breville sandwich toaster? Why is it not working anymore? Is it becaus I tried to jam a sandwich in it?

I LOVR YOO PADPHONES!

Fantastic looking device! Wondering how thick it's going to be, if it's able to close over the entire phone. Apart from that, very excited!

I thought that the new S^3 series would be better than the earlier models, but it seems that there's still left the legacy of crashing and so on.

I do admit that the games run smooth, but the touchscreen resolution makes the text look not so good.

I was about to buy the E7, but I changed my mind. I'm going for Samsung Galaxy S2.

Wonderful idea and i hope ASUS dont let us down with average specs and functions that we have to comment and ask for. I think it is time, manufactures ask the customers what is needed for a wonderful product because we always have to ask for more. Obviously all cant be built into one product but still, a lot of manufactures leave out a lot.

            Again wonderful idea ASUS.

I've wondered how to go about my love for android tablet or phone for so long now but this makes absolute sense and I'm sure the other device manufacturers will be tumbling over each other to copy asus. Fantastic concept indeed and way better than motorola's atrix idea!!

WOW finally someone is taking tablet-mobile telephony seriously. ASUS has taken and actually made an effort in the useless world of tablets to provide a device that can be put to pactical use rather than be just another collectors fancy gadget. think about it the iPad sells coz it is Apple & is run on propaganda rather than need. THe Galaxy Tab has marginal usage. the rest of the the tablets are launching coz each company wants a slice of cake where none exists. (I reserve my comments for BB Playbook simply because I am partial towards all things BB). Besides who wants to be on call while holding a monstorous screen beside/in front of your head with both hands.

But look what you can do with this ASUS Padfone. Firstly, You just buy one unit that has a tablet as well as a Ph. rather than first getting a smartphone then experiencing that you do not like it & then you go to buy an expensive tablet that you hardly use for serious work. Now with this unit Imagine that you can do with this single two part unit. e.g. you can work on your spreadsheet while being on a conference call with your colleagues & you can do this while on your way to work. or you can play games & simultaneously listening to music & be on a call without bothering with the compatibility. Moreover connect your laptop (ASUS), tablet & Ph via the WiFi so you can work on 3 screens. Just Imagine the possibilities & the precious time saved.

Lastly I sincerely thank the ASUS geeks for thinking out of the box. Time for the fashion accesories of the iPads & Galaxy Tabs to take a bow.

Very smart and simple Idea to life.
                            An attractive product.
But this seem not for convenient usage.
                            Want to try on.

On a side note, I agree with you on the bad browser. Anna will change that. For now, The first thing that I do is to install opera mini and mobile, but I have to disagree with you on touch performance and gaming when it comes to symbian^3 phones.
Even gsmarena agrees that they have excellent touchscreens, and there are HD games available for symbian^3 phones, like shift HD, asphalt 5 HD, etc.
Actually they do every major thing that android does, and in some cases even more.

On topic, this seems to be a very interesting idea. I wonder what the price would be.

I also strongly wish they(the big tech companies) come up with more generic, standardized layout So that smartphones from one company can work with terminals of other companies. That will allow products that you might not even imagine now .. Media players and portable game consoles which are simply little devices that you plug in to this machine? A tiny wireless dongle like thing that lets you use this device as a wacom tablet like device for your powerfull desktop? Use it as a field monitor for your DSLR camera?

Very interesting indeed. A device that combines phone, tablet and notebook as modules within the one device opens infinite possibilities. Think about it, if applied correctly it opens new opportunities in the way we access, store and communicate information especially with the advent of cloud computing. As a business person I'm very interested indeed lets hope manufactures use logic and common sense for it's future direction otherwise Apple will take advantage and leap ahead once again. Will keep a close eye on it's development particularly in the commercial business arena. I can already think of some practical applications so lets hope the manufacture also thinks outside the circle and not just produce another short lived consumer products/toys out of Asia. Be proactive like Apple, rather than reactive like you know who............ lead from the front show some real innovation ASUS. Cheers and good luck.
