Anonymous, 01 Sep 2017A camera’s sensor is not the “be-all-end-all” for photo qua... moreLens is important but so is the sensor. First low light samples of V30 camera show typical problem of particulary tiny sensors - noise, a lot of noise smeared by noise reduction alghorithms.
In low light V30 camera with much smaller sensor can't match the S8's one despite slightly brighter lens.
More than that I wonder wether It can match even the old G4 16MP sensor. Honestly I doubt...
Maybe LG lens itself can resolve more details but in the end is not able to show that potencial advantage because of the poor sensor.

Don't worry about battery life. Snapdragon 835 is more power efficient than last year's chips. And my G5 might have better battery life especially in standby on Nougat than Marshmallow. My V20 is still excellent with a smaller 3220 mAh. The difference between all five phones I got are pretty much the same. 4-6 hr SOT although usually 4-5 if location service is turned on.
I will miss that second display with my signature and country flag next to my name + LG V20. V30 loses removable battery, metal back, and IR blaster which are unique features on flagships nowadays. V30 looks better but also like everyone else. LG sold out to the hipsters because phones are now fashion accessories.

Apple iPhone AE? (Anniversary Edition)
I really like the idea on iOS with the gesture controls. I have liked gestures since using Nova Prime and All-In-One Gesture on my HTC One M7 in 2013. To swipe up is similar to the card UI in webOS.
Might end up getting another iPhone. Don't like iOS, but the direction they are headed with face detection security, AR, and gesture control is intriguing. Time to put down a grand on the next iPhone. But I hope they call it iPhone AE or whatever as long as it isn't iPhone 8. Make the design and name a one-time thing. If they call it iPhone 8 then might as well wait for iPhone 8s. Better refinements and the stronger twin.

I doubt 1/3.1" can challenge S8/HTC11 sensors.
I would take a contemporary reincarnation of 808 pureview anytime over these. I read they used a very sophisticated lens system with the huge sensor. Would buy that immediately. Nokia, are you listening???

Some may complain the price is too high, but that is not the point. Maybe just wait for a few months then you could buy it at a good price....

If the glass on it is pretty good and the software processes the images well, then it should take some nice photos compared to even a RED cinema sensor with a dirty lens. Maybe the weak link is what’s behind the camera?

V30 looks great but my eyes are set on Nokia 8. LG UX and questionable quality after three months are concerns. LG's track record on quality isn't very good. I still like LG more than Samsung though.

Soo, 01 Sep 2017what's poled?POLED = Plastic-substrate OLED. This does NOT mean plastic screen, like some people think :) The screen is Gorilla Glass 5, but the substrate on which the LEDs are laid out has to do with plastic. That resides deep inside the screen assembly.

Soo, 01 Sep 2017what's poled?Plastic OLED, with Plastic LG claim P-OLED display is more thin and easier to make an "edge" than glass. But still its has Corning Gorilla Glass.

The phone has more than 500 hours standby time while many other phones have about 300+ standby time. I comfortably have 1 to 2 days depending on my usage of course. I would not worry about that.

For instance, Samsung S8/S8+ don't come with it and the people is not complaining about it. Could you tell me why? LOL Troll somewhere else.

As a G4 user for the past 2 years, I have been thinking since the G5 release. Shall I upgrade or not.
G4 excluding its bootloop issue (which strikes me as well) is a very good every day phone. Users who don't play heavy games/apps should be more than happy had G4 was reliable enough.
LG made G5 with a new concept of detachable battery but I myself not get used to it. Besides, G5 has 32g storage anyway.
I must admit that i had high hopes for G6. Almost ordered one even. But then I decided to read some reviews only to find out G6 battery not even close to its competitors.
Now that V30 has only 3300mah, i am wondering if v30 will meet the same fate as g6?
