Why not launch the Xperia with AAA sized pencil cells that would be much better. This is really stupid of Sony to launch a flagship with 2700 battery, such huge Bezel. Almost all the manufacturer of cellphones are going for wider screens Sony is still stuck with big bezels and smaller battery. That's the reason why Sony's don't sell.

From my experience all Sony xperias are rubbish, I have a Z2 and it overheats to 43°C with normal use, and there's nothing wrong with the battery except it might explode if it carries on like this. And with Qnovo partnership with Sony to produce more effective battery, the reduced battery life 2700 Mah maybe that to prolonge the battery life to 4 years minimum so it doesn't need to be replaced more often.

Afraid that just isn't true, endurance rating of the XZ = 72 hrs, the Z3 = 84hrs. The difference between the two = 400mAh of battery, and the Z3 runs a less efficient processor.
Sony's optimization of the XZ1 will likely allow it to match (if lucky) the endurance numbers posted by the XZ.

A standard for a power user is extremely high.
I consider myself as a power user, and I'm currently using a Zenfone Max to type this comment.
It has 5000mAh battery and I do internet browsing all the time, yet takes ONLY 2 DAYS to drain it to low percentage - not even a very productive and power user will appreciate.

the screen talks are funny. my galaxy s 4k screen runs at 1080p because battery by default - most people think "look at this gorgeous 4k" but they're all just running a high density 1080p screen.
some previous sony phones did this and only enabled 4k for videos, it was outrage. now they just run 4k always, so its also outrage
sony's like trump, no matter what they do they're wrong because reasons, lol

I have an Xperia XA1 running on an "energy and power efficient" 16nm Helio P20 with a 720p screen with stamina mode most of the time. I charge it twice a day and it overheats a lot.
