Anonymous, 03 Sep 2017Back cover secondary screen is very tiny, I don't know what... moreIt's mostly for notifications while your phone is on the table. It can be used for taking selfies with the main camera which is way better and has a flash

Zero, 03 Sep 2017They should have gone to the Hexa Core Power VR. Next ye... moredone what? even several years old chipset still can deliver any games i play smoothly, this is more important than number in benchmarks. optimization of OS also plays an important role here, a real example is my friend has S7, on nougat he got lag on his game, but on marshmallow everything is butter smooth.

to test how good the smartphone in gaming, better if gsmarena play several game with fps meter than posting 3d bench number that leads ppl to go crazy. whats important is the real usage performance of the device, like when playing games for 20minutes if the fps stable or not etc. because some device heats a lot, it drops the gaming performance after playing games for a while

I already expect the GPU being a weakpoint right where they announced that they're gonna use GT7400 Plus. It's just a little bit stronger than Adreno 510, almost as strong as Adreno 512, but waaaay behind Adreno 530 or even 430. It's still enough for "heavy" gaming on Android, though, as none actually requires huge power that powerful Adreno delivers. Even Adreno 506 can still give smooth experience (at worst you might get microstutters) on FHD screen.

Nice try, maybe combining X + P series would achieve better score. Helio XP haha

Next year they are FORCED to use Furian or they are done.

"Finally, in real-life performance the Meizu Pro 7 Plus feels as snappy as the vanilla Android-sporting Nokia 8, and noticeably snappier than the most recent Galaxy S8 series"
IMO this matters more than all the benchmarks. If they aced real world usage they did good. Why not judge a phone based on its entire package and not only the processor inside it?

AnonD-632062, 03 Sep 2017The X30 is the best of Mediatek this year, and yet it's ben... moreYeah.

Well, basically it's not that bad for an MTK.

GPU is weaker than other 2017 flagship chipset but it doesnt really matter in most cases.
heck snapdragon 801 still running strong playing all latest games.

i want to see the power consumption of X30 though.

Lol pro7 plus is the most frustrating thing i have seen in 2017. I was planning to buy a flagship device this year but meizu had some other plans. Better buy iPhone 8.

Just leave mtk to chinese fake samsung phones.

Actually, my Nokia 808 does play 1080p movies hassle-free. 1 core. Talk about optimisation.

Anonymous, 03 Sep 2017It's the GPU that keeps this SoC down. I'm pretty sure it ... morenot really ...plus mediatek x20 last year was competing against sd650 not sd820 ..i guess they priced the x30 tooo high because of 10nm process ,they ended with on one using the x30 like last year x20 so basiclly it was afail .... next generation though should be cheaper since 10nm is now old thx to 7nm . i hope they dnt go for 7nm too and make same mistake again lol

I'm pretty sure it will score highest in CPU tests.

The X30 is the best of Mediatek this year, and yet it's benchmark performance is around that of some early 2016 smartphones. Now we have to wait for the battery endurance. I hope Mediatek learns to emphasise quality over quantity.

"...we can surely contribute that to the 10nm process of the Helio X30."
This doesn't make sense; do you maybe mean "attribute" instead of "contribute"?
